Re: Orc Portrait Series
Final lineart with flats for both. I'm done with the Grunt line, now the Archer line remains before I can do any shading.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
This latest pair look really nice - I like what you did with the armor. I also like how they look inhuman, but also don't look simian, either.
Great stuff.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Ohhh, that red hair of the #8 is really cool! Are you planning to keep it red? I mean, so it won't turn brown when shading, or will it be brown? Or something else?
And that weapon... It would be really cool to have an Orc with that as a different unit...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
This micture of used loy elements and original orcish stuff works great!
I think you lost a bit of No 7's attitude in the process - in the very first sketch you posted he was slightly looking to the right and up and his expression was a bit more smug due to that. And I'm confused by his upper arms - their shape suggests they are going down but the curve of the undershirt (the light brown one) hints at them being rather strongly foreshortened. Or is the shirt supposed to be turned up? But probably shading will clear that up anyway.
I like that no 8 has a different experession - a contemplative orc for a change! His chest seems a bit flat with those leather scales all pointing in the exactly same direction.
And I can't wait to seeing your take on the archer line!

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Number 8 is indeed more thoughtful than the others, just like Tanar.
Re: Orc Portrait Series
I like the helmet on number 8. It's very unique.
My computer just got back to me with a new hardrive...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
remembering the fluffyness of previous portraits this xbow might probably need some care (or rather lack of care in terms of shaving ) in the mouth and beard region dunchafink?
Like cats? I've made a whole faction of them to kick ass with!

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Once more, I;d be inclined to bring his head a little further down on his shoulders - the neck feels a little long, and he;s losing his hunch.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
I think that my view of the orcs gives them an almost gorilla-like neck - pointg more forward than upward from their shoulders, and a very hunched stance - they'd be over 6'6" if they stood straight but tend to stand at about 5'102 or so. If this is conflicting with your views, feel free to overrule me

Re: Orc Portrait Series
And another lineart with flats. The slurbow, this time.
Only the Archer remains to do before I can finish the Loys and get to Orcish shading
