Only one teeny, tiny tweak strikes me as necessary: the liune behind the horse's right eye should be the same colour as the one surrounding its ear - it looks a little odd at present. I'll get this and the knight committed weds or thurs when i get back from web-less hell.

Did you maybe mix Art Development (the developer only forum) and Art Workshop (for non-mainline art)?

Right. We'll move it to AD.

Threads are moved to AD to archive mainline art that no longer merits discussion. That is, it's fine for people to cheer on how nice it is, but the involved artists consider it done and want to close the faucet of critique. (since any art piece, no matter how good, can be discussed ad infinitum et nauseum). When we're done, we're done.

Probably the biggest reason for it to go there is AD doesn't get many new threads, so it's MUCH easier to find, there, than practically anywhere else.

Before posting the final Lancer sometime tonight, I'd like to send a big thanks to the Wesnoth community for providing support, artistic advice and the occasional loony discussion along the 60 pages of this thread. May we all have just as much fun with the next portrait series !

hmm if you want to retire this thread, are we sure it's got all there was to make? aren't we missing dragoon portraits?
Like cats? I've made a whole faction of them to kick ass with!

You can be sure that LordBob knows exactly what he has done and what he hasn't. You can also search this thread and find out that the dragoon and cavalier are sharing a portrait.

Congrats from me too! :D

It's surprising how relieving and great getting such a body of work done can feel! And I'm really impressed with your stamina to immediately start your next big project for wesnoth!
Thanks for tons of great work on an astonishing high niveau!

Thank you all, thank you very much for your support. :D It's been a pleasure and I can't say there won't be additional campaign-specific Loyalist portraits in the future, but the latest few really have exhausted my eagerness. Kitty, you among all certainly know how that feels. So yes, I am eager to switch onto the orcs ! Yaaarrrrh !!!

I hope lancer can had a lance, so I add it on LordBob's picture.
If you feel it's bad, tell me, and I'll delete it.

Thanks LordBob again!

No, for the main part the crop is wrong. New portraits cannot be cropped top and right. For the rest, LordBob's just considered this finished and that generally means case closed here.

Besides that, why would he be holding a big, heaving lance when he's talking not fighting? He's likely got it stashed somewhere, but there's no reason why he HAS to be holding it. It actually makes more sense that way it's originally drawn.

Thanks, Cloud.

Just to omit my picture, it's only a test.

Thanks everyone to pointed out the faults.

Maybe he is receiving last orders right before the attack? Reporting back from battle or scouting? It is his one and only weapon and his raison d'etre, why would he not have it at hand? Soldiers do a lot of talking while holding their weapon. Also, he does not necessarily support the weight of the lance with his hand, its rear end might actually rest in some kind of lance stirrup, or it is tied to the saddle.

Enough discussion on that, please.

I'll get these committed this weekend, hopefully.

Damn time restraints.
