Those who were here at the beginning of the thread will know that he began as a walking corpse  So I can appreciate that he doesn’t look human.

On the subject of different poses i would have to say IMHO it makes them more interesting too. (Well obviously, that’s why i did it)

As a compromise I’ll redo the male from scratch and put the hood up on him, so there is an easy visual link between he too.

As for the male, one tip would be to remove the black lines by going over them in a much darker shade of the colour they surround (err...if that makes sense. If it doesn't look at the portraits by Jason Lutes to see what I mean).
As example... (not used on mainline but should give you the idea of colours and techniques)
The image seems still lacking a few layers of shading and ligths...

I just did some quick edits over your image...
I should have used layers but got lazy...
also I should have used the original JL pallettes or variations of them to helps to get the same balnce between inner and outer colours...

Thanks! :D That's looking much more like it should!

Can i use this and try to develop it further?

Or do people still think he is looking inhuman?

Personally i think he is looking alot better and alot more human myself

Is her hair white, or is it just the inner part of the robe. I'd think that a dark sorcerer would prefer black/gray over the more "holy" white.

Of both your works I think they are splendid and you are on your way to becoming a fine contributing to Wesnoth

There are a couple of UMCs that use it, like IoA, RotL, ...
First read, then think. Read again, think again. And then post!

The male is pretty good, but for me the empty eyes just seem kinda dull, so I tried what he would look like with pinpoint pupils, dirty greenish irises and some bloodshot in the corners. Maybe that's a too much of step back to the human direction, but the blank white seemed just so... blank.

The female is perfectly fine picture... for a nice young lady next door. I don't see anything particularily sinister or menacing about her, she looks pretty healthy, round face, full lips and pale, yet fresh skin colour. The pose is static and she just misses engaging eye contact with the viewer. The sketch actually had more promise, the shaded version is a step backwards, IMO.

The second DA Male is an overall improvement, but they eyes have lost some of the menace that the first version had.
