Tekken. Competitive tekken.

Tekken tag and tekken 5. Fun games. I don't have time or the interest to get into 2d fighters at all.

Isn't tekken an anime movie featuring naked females and sci fi stuff?
Sorry for the meaningless post

TEKKEN?! That's amazing! I don't suppose you remember me from Zaibatsu? I used to practically run the Heihachi forums back in the day, around the era of T4.

I haven't been playing as much since I got into this game- T5 seemed incredible to me at first; now there's just too much about it that bothers me for me to want to spend too much time on it. The nature of the wall juggles, the ease of juggles in general (something like Heihachi's EWGF,EWGF, 1, 1, f+1, b+2, 1 used to mean something, you know? T5 juggle system is too tolerant of sloppiness. ) the trash with Steve and Feng and to some extent Nina- Just a bit too much of a general drag. Of course T4 had more cheese and trash, but I somehow found that whole time period more fun (and dramatic?). The Mandarin keeps me playing Tag though, which I still do enjoy.

Also, MCP, I'd tried to watch the match you posted, but it was in an odd format that my system couldn't make sense of (it said "file is corrupt").

Could you post it as a .txt?

I thought I recognized your name from somewhere, interesting.

It's in a tar format, wesnoth 0.9.3...from a mac...I dunno.

Just un-tar it, if you have, then I'm sorry...it's broked.

---- TEKKEN 5 TALK ------
T5 is fun. I dunno what your problem is. You know about T 5.1 coming and possibly T 5.2?

They're updating it, at least in the arcade.

One thing you may notice:
feng's ss+4 is now punishable on block.
Nina can no longer finish combos with u/f~1.
Ground damage cut to 70%.
Tech catches harder.
DJ is top tier because bryan, nina, steve and feng have been downgraded a little.
---- END TEKKEN 5 TALK ------

edit: I'll add the match to this post, untarred as a .txt file.

Yeah, I know about all that, except for one detail. You say tech catches are just harder? I've heard they were removed entirely.

The changes would be enough to bring me back to serious practice, if it weren't for the fact that the nearest arcade with t5 is 2 hours away. So, I'm stuck with the original.

----- End Tekken 5 Talk -----

I'll try watching your match now..... :)

Swordfodder (P1, Knalgans) vs. Soliton (P2, Undead), on Divide and Conquer.
(Cool match- Soliton is really the Calm Bomb in this one. 8) )

Ay!

Let's keep this archive alive!

:D

FenX (Knalgans, P1) vs. Paterson (Drakes, P2) on Charge.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ._Paterson

Mr.Moe (Elves, P1) vs. Paterson (Loyalists, P2) on Sulla's Ruins.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ._Paterson

Ereksos (Elves, P1) vs. Paterson (Undead, P2) on Charge.
(This one is probably the best match of the bunch.) :D
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... _paterson3

Superabo (Knalgans)and Supernintendo (Elves)(Team SUPER) vs. Paterson (Northerners) and Ereksos (Drakes) (Team Weevil) on Castle Hopping Isle.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ernintendo
Ereksos has some crazy-bad luck in this one (you'll know when), but this is still a fun match to watch.
(EDIT: I just realized something about this match- This is the second half, because it crashed and we reloaded. So, I'll just tell you what happened. Ereksos and I did random, so he ended up with a Saurian for a leader (isn't that always the way? :P ). There was a situation where, with extreme luck, a path could be made for one of Superabo's Dwarven Fighters to reach the Saurian. Only hitting all three strikes would kill it. Well, such extreme luck happened twice- The path was made and the Fighter scored all 3 hits.

It was a drag at the time, but it made the game a lot more interesting.

 )

Come one people....you know you want to post your matches! See, look- it's easy! 8)

Paterson (P1, Undead) vs. BJA (P2, Elves) on Meteor Lake.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/Paterson_vs._BJA

Jahanam (P1, Undead) vs. The RZA [possessed by Paterson's ghost :)] (P2, Elves) on Silverhead Crossing.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ._Paterson

Sir Fantom (P1, Northerners)vs. Willy Williams [AKA William Carlos Williams AKA Doc Paterson AKA The Rugged Lug :P ] (P2, Northerners) on Hamlets.
Be sure to hit "show replay" on this one, because it's an autosave of a game that was conceded on the next turn and not saved. A certain leader ended up getting slowed, poisoned and blocked off. ) At any rate, this game ended with a callout of sorts from Sir Fantom (a very good player by the way)- Something to the tune of "Let's do the same factions again, and I'll beat you." I think some debate over trolls was involved.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... terson_1st

So, that chained into this match- A very good, very (I'd guess) fun to watch match. I have much respect for Sir Fantom's playing.
Sir Fantom (P1, Northerners) vs. Paterson (P2, Northerners) on Charge.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ._Paterson

(You have to hit "show replay" on this one as well- Otherwise you'll only see the setup before the game ended.)

Let's see what I have in my bag of goodies:

Ereksos (P1, Knalgans) vs. Paterson (P2, Drakes) on Charge.
Don't you just love those random Saurian leaders? :P
This, I think, is one of the best matches we've had, so take a look.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... _paterson4

Has (P1, Elves) vs. Lethe (P2, Knalgans) on Sulla's Ruins.
A really fun to watch, epic duel. Cuts off before the last 2 turns, but you'll get the idea.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/Has_vs._Lethe

Lindir the Green (P1, Elves) vs. Angel of Vengeance (P2, Elves) on Meteor Lake.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... _Vengeance

Oblak (P1, Elves) vs. Ghostface Killah (P2, Drakes) on Charge.
A really really wild one; top tier entertainment. :)
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... ace_killah

Owr (P1, Knalgans) vs. The Bloody Chef (P2, Elves) on Silverhead Crossing.
Another exciting one, with some amusing leader action.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... hef_replay
Ankka (P1, Knalgans) vs. Paul "The Wall" Simon (P2, Northerners) on Silverhead Crossing.
Probably one of the most interesting matches I've posted. Take a look at this if you've ever had problems as player 2 on this map.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... _vs._Ankka

Pelocho (P1, Undead) vs. Golden Arms Paterson (P2, Loyalists) on Charge.
Features the special ending-scene "Death by a Thousand Mage-Pokes!"
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... son_replay

Yan (P1, Drakes) vs. 8B (P2, Undead) on Den of Onis.
You just might see an adept or two in this match.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/Yan_vs._8B

Revak (P1, Elves) vs. Doc Paterson (Drakes, P2) on Charge.
I'm beginning to wonder whether I've ever not gotten a Saurian leader when I get Drakes at random.... :o . A fun match.
