I think multiple maps would be fine, but it is much better (in terms of getting something into the final considerations) to post 1 or 2 polished maps than 5 or 6 maps of lower quality.

I think that we should probably have a cap on that, like 2 or 3 tops.

Is it 1v1 only or can I submit my 3v1 map?

Okay, I'll be submitting my 3v1 Fortress Assault (still my favorite creation) and my more traditional 1v1, Twin Rivers, after I get a few games going on 1.7 over the next few weekends. I have dozens of playtest replays for Fortress Assault, but they're all late 1.3 and on my older computer. My maps are a bit of an odd case, since I did play them extensively, just on old versions of Wesnoth. If the limit is three (it was only stated as "two or three") I have other map in my mappack I can submit, probably the 4p FFA Four Bases. It has a "shop," but it is a terrain shop instead of a unit-enhancing shop and is nonessential for the map if I have to remove it.

Fortress Assault is a bit of a difficult map on the "balance" aspect because imbalance is the point of the map. It's only a fair fight if the starting gold is flexible based on the skill level of the players: some people will never be able to win as a defender with only 200g to start, but good players will almost always destroy the attackers with anything more.

Should I submit my maps without the replays and then post them as I play them or should I wait until I collect (more recent, 1.6 and/or 1.7) replays to post them?

Well the 'balance' in a 3 vs 1 map should be so that if the 3 players have a better average skill than the 1 player they should win, otherwise they should lose. It's somehow hard to rate without playing it often, though.

yeah, upon reflection I really wouldn't want anyone to submit 5 or 6 maps. ;)

1) Wesnoth doesn't have many 3p ffa maps in mainline.
2) I was bored.
3) This thread was mentioned in MP server MOTD.
4) ...
5) Map, designed for 3p ffa. Not really tested much (2 replays in archive), but seems to be not extra terribly unbalanced. Abuses composite terrain.
6) There.

I like tsr's map too, but I found it a little unbalanced. For example, I played random and got orcs, and noticed the nagas can be overpowered on this map since they get 60% defense on river fords, which are predominant. I think it needs some more terrain balance, especially at removing some of the water (not oasis). Replay attached.

im super opened to all kind of exploits on this map.

defeated lanzaloT on it with dw vs ud rushful gameplay

the point is, he had chosen to attack a gunner with 2 skels where they should have helped him out in the middle.

oh, i should have posted this in tsr's post - well u might find it useful too.

however :)

Hello I made a map for the contest as well I'm afraid it's not the greatest but I think I'll try and make another one of higher quality. Anyway I think this one is good enough to post here though.. Or I hope so at least =)

1vs1 map sized about 30x30 with 9 villages per side so it's relatively large... Uhh that's all I guess.

I really like the aesthetics of the Anarchid's map. What a clever use of terrain.

Ok, one more:
Snake River
Snake River
Some more info about this map can be found here: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=27413

This should be ready for play with 1.6 (not sure about 1.7, but according to others that should work, too).

If you playtest that map, don't forget to take the three town villages in your backyard  .
