[blissful ignorance]Mistborn?
What it is?[/ignorance]
(I asked similar question three times, so far.
  1. "Pratchett? And what he writes?"
  2. "Funny, there's anime based on Ghost In The Shell? Might give it a try."
  3. "Battle for Wesnoth"? LOL, couldn't they think of better name for a strategy game?"
Every time it meant addiction and subsequent terrible shortage of free time.
*googlepeek* And it seems like this is the case again.
Damn.)
One question about the thread: Do comics belong here? (technically, you read them...)
More on topic: I'm currently trying to catch up with Discworld. So, just finished Thief of Time, looking forward to read I Shall Wear Midnight.

Yes, feel free to post about comics you're reading here here.

And yes, Mistborn is that good.

Just finished One of our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fforde. I have never read such a meta book in my life. But it was brilliant. I'm really enjoying this man's writing.

Next challenge will be to see if I can track down a copy of The City and The City by China Mieville, which I've been itching to read for a while. If not, then another crack at Wicked is tempting.

I also recently finished Age of Darkness, the latest Horus Heresy book. Fun.

Eragon is good, but Paolini is a huge Tolkein wannabe.

My brother read Mistborn, he loved it. He won't let me read it though...

Has anyone read Cinda Williams Chima? She's got some good Fantasy books.

I am reading through War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy at the moment. It's the first fiction book I've read in a long, long time--but then again there is a certain degree of realism about it and it very much deals with historical events. I mostly read history books. I could never read a book such as Dune, I found its connection to the real world too weak and the liminal space of its universe stumped me so that I gave up and never finished the book. I also love Tom Clancy.

Anyway. I've just finished Part 1 of Book 1 and it is an absolutely excellent book. I would highly recommend it to anyone of a high reading level and lots, lots of time on their hands. You also need a good memory--I'm already getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of characters in this book! It's also the first book (note how I avoid using the word "novel", because this isn't one) I've read by Tolstoy and I can safely say that he was indeed one of the most magnificent writers of all time.

An excellent book; I've already got more enjoyment out of it than piles of other classical literature which I've never been a big fan of. But this is different. It is awesome.
I am the maintainer of Temples of the nagas, the greatest 4-player co-op survival scenario in the universe!

Tolkein will be Tolkein, and you really can't mimic him. If you do, you either end up pretty cliched and mocked for it, or you perish along the way.

Finished P.W Catanese books, must say that even if they are childrens stories with as much character depth as Abbott and Costello, I found them pretty good.
Guys I never thought I'd come back to this forum after 8 years this is wild
