Re: I'm absolutely Garbage
Some quick issues I saw in the 1v1 replays: In several occasions you took too long to capture your villages. Your opponent just moved in and stole village after village. Plan your initial recruits to gather as many villages by turn two and all nearby one by turn three. At this point villages should ...

Re: another topic about drakes! (since we don't have enough!
@rayhaku: Against rebels I'd go more with Clashers/Augurs. Clashers will always take less melee damage from nearly all rebel melee units. Augurs will take less ranged damage from their ranged units. Might add some drake fighters for some extra speed and a bit of fire damage to keep woses from being ...

Re: Loading a Multiplayer Game Online
Yes, the players will be able to join as long as they use the same names as the reserved ones. Other players can only watch (if allowed). But the host (you) can give the not-yet-filled reserved spots to observers (or to yourself). Therefore, your friend could've joined as an observer, then you asig...

This log is pretty cool. It even shows which games were played with Random Map addon, and which map was selected by it. Nice.

This playing all the time will make me crazy. This. I would go to absurd lengths to kill Fencers if they were constantly bobbing like that all the time. Prepare to go crazy :D : http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/download/file.php?id=41875 http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/download/file.php?id=41912 http://ww...

@Paxe: Why don't you do a little test? Get a friend that's more or less your same skill level, explain to him this cheat and ask him if your/him can purposely use the cheat in order to do a little test. In fact, take turns to do it. Something tells me it won't really make as much of a difference as ...

Re: How to play - Northeners vs Drakes - Huumy
I think we just have a different perspective. The first drake units northies should run into are in fact clashers/fighters. They are the best thing to have in the front lines against a mostly melee/blade faction. But when the drake player gets his turn, he'll need something he can use to attack. Usi...

Re: How to play - Northeners vs Drakes - Huumy
You'll most likely face a great deal of clashers and fighters, along with the occaisional burner and maybe an augur for healing. I disagree. Northies are a faction of mostly melee specialists (grunts, trolls, wolf, naga). The only hibrid melee unit is lv0 and has a really weak ranged attack (3-1 from ...

Re: another topic about drakes! (since we don't have enough!
Yes you ca- Oh wait. This is this topic. Never mind, carry on  Their burner hoard will easily clean up your spearmen, though. The spearmen don't have enough ranged retaliation. what? lol ! at which point of the game is this going to happen that u have enough gold to buy a burner HOARD? bef...

Re: How to exploit Drake mobility?
The mobility advantage will be more noticeable on critical situations. First, the ToD back and forth. For example, in that matchup Undead need to fall back as daytime approaches, your drakes can easily catch up and hurt them bad at daytime. But to achieve this, you'll need to keep your units safe du...

Re: Tanking and damage sinking
I basically take into consideration the expendability of units more than their damage soaking capability. As long as I keep the important damage dealers alive, all the other units are the damage soakers. Of course, I also balance in the costs/retaliation capabilities. But if some of the "tanks&...

Re: Dark Sorcerer tank
That wasn't really the point. The Burner-Archer example was only to describe how deterring an attack is better than tanking the damage dealt by one. As for what you said, though, well, the Drake Clasher is tough enough to withstand a good bit of fire from Archers, and the Fighter is quick enough to...

Re: Dark Sorcerer tank
If I'm fighting an army of mostly elvish archers at day, I'll probably kill the few elvish fighters they have, then use Burners as tanks (I'm using drakes). A dextrous archer hurts (7-4) but he gets hurts back the same, and he has less HP. And right behind those are a good few melee units ready for ...
