Re: 1.9.5 swallow water / plain = bad terrain
* I'm not especially an animator. I'd be happy to accept quality water or ford tiles that are more distinct in texture from each other. There are tons of things i'd like to improve in the terrain --what you see is not the final word-- i just don't have time to make them myself right now. * Since the...

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Square, flat-roofed igloos are a bit too radical for me, and almost seem like something made out of white stone.
All are rendered very nicely, and i'm committing the round ones.

Re: Give me a project(s)
That's a very good summary, I would suggest making it a sticky, but we already have too many. Maybe it can be incorporated into an existing one...thespaceinvader wrote:I'll give you a quick tour of our Art Community so you don't get lost.

Re: Wesnoth mainline content suitability
and this: I think the Battle for Wesnoth is in stage where the community needs to focus on specific groups of players instead of broad ones. Why? We have a large established fan base over a wide age range. What's the net advantage for suddenly deciding to alienate 2/3rds in favor of 1/3rd? The core...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
It doesn't behave in realistic manner, but it looks real. I don't think connecting realistic with abstract elements is a good idea...In a modern setting one would assume it to be plastic, in a quasi-medieval setting it will either look anachronistic or semi-abstract. Maybe, but issues of anachronis...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
Yes, that will make it more legible, but it will also make it more like my previous gilded manuscript letter version, which didn't get all that warm welcome. :P You mean this? The problem there is that (it looks like) the outer rim of color is eating into the letters, which hurts legibility with ty...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
I like your metal effect a lot, but coupled with that dark, short dropshadow and the standard background, legibility is way too low. If something like this is gonna work you'll need to add much greater separation between the letters and the background. I suggest a "rim" -- the blue part in...

Re: Water lilies
Very nice. Committed. "Small" images in particular don't need a wide margin around them. I cropped them down to save KBs. Haven't thoroughly looked into overlapping issues, saw some stuff small enough to be ignored. You can remove the orcish keep from consideration-- it is too wide for a l...

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
I've added it in, but it's not behaving quite right. Maybe i'm too tired, maybe i've forgotten how this part of the WML worked. Note: the especially complicated part is what allows castles (not keeps) of different kinds to go together.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
OK, looking into making this work... The non-keep pieces are they any different than what's already in mainline, or just included to make the replacement set work?

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Trees: I'd be happy to have a burnt out forest, but these trees (as have been noted) are out of scale to a normal forest. You may have to cheat some to make them show up as burnt, but i don't think they need to be that big. Don't forget to scatter some ash pixels on the ground to complete the burnt ...

Re: Water lilies
The flower part is much improved. At the risk of being nit-picky, heres more or less what i was looking for with this: "I don't want heavy outlining, but there no sense of edges or of shading underneath." lily.jpg ---Some black pixels at 40-60% opacity around the bottom of the flower. It g...
