Re: 1.8 SP Campaign: Bad Moon Rising 0.9.8
I played some scenarios a second time and found a problem. In "Rescue", I killed both enemy leaders before they explored the villages, so Raenna and her archers did not show up, although the "You are Raenna, right? ..." dialog still pops up. In the next scenario, I don't have Rae...

Re: Journey's End
Updating the torrent doesn't need to be much extra work over updating the files. If you want to provide a single torrent for all the files, it would be easiest with a host that allows you to run scripts. You can upload the files, run a script to automatically recreate the torrent, and possibly the w...

Re: Programming for Name Generator
From the post you linked, it seems that you are using the generator to get a good, large list of names to be used in your final WML, from a small list of names you made up. I think repeating this process by itself won't give you a list of natural names, but you can certainly use the generated names ...

Re: The Hall of Heroes
It may be possible to have a script generate this by analyzing replay files. I think a script would allow more flexibility than building this into wesnoth itself. It can use a custom template that may use fancier words, and have filters for "important events" such as not fighting at all fo...

Re: a small request to era-makers
Would this still allow campaigns_client.py to automatically update installed addons?

Re: Desktop icon for the dev-release
This looks very cool!
Too bad I normally run wesnoth by just typing the command, and never see the icon

Re: SurvivalXtreme: Version 2.02
I'm trying to think of better ways for balancing units for SX than removing "overpowered" units. I'm not sure how feasible it is to implement them, but here are the ideas: Make the cost of upgrading rise exponentially. For example, cost to add one damage = 5 * current damage cost to add on...

Version 2.02a is failing to load on 1.3.16 for a few Linux users including me. It works for me after the DOS newlines (\r\n) in the files are converted to Unix newlines (\n). I'm not sure whether this is a known issue in Wesnoth. I'm attaching the version that works on Linux. Maybe Windows users can...

I say we turn the Wesnoth lobby into an IRC client =) Included with wesnoth source package is a Perl utility named wesnoth-mp-logger.pl, which connects to the lobby and logs the messages to a file or stdout. It wouldn't be hard to write a script to monitor lines from the output and do whatever, inc...

I understood about that much from Mythological's explanation. Though the scenario doesn't seem to be similar to a save file: you can just call the macros, without copying them all over in the scenario file. I can't think of why it's necessary to store a lot of the macro expansions in the save file, ...
