Re: Main Screen Layout

I gotta say, that menu looks awful small floating down there in the right-hand corner. Would it be possible to dynamically resize the menu and its buttons to occupy more screen real-estate where space permits?

Re: [forum] A little feature request.

I think he's suggesting that, when in "quick reply" mode, clicking the "full editor" mode would produce the same result as clicking the "preview" button would have if you were already in the "full editor" mode. Personally, I think it would make more sense to a...

Fantastic.

These are a dramatic improvement over the old wooden bridge, and really help to bring the bridge graphics up to the new terrain quality standard that Eleazar's been promulgating. Nice work lurker. :D

Re: Terrain

I don't think the marble castle fits with the surrounding terrain very well, probably because it's an unusual colour and the edges are really straight and quite sharp. I'm not sure how you can fix that without loosing the shiny smooth look, though (which I assume is what you were going for?). It mi...

Re: WSRSW (voting on scenarios and campaigns)

It looks like this topic is heading towards an argument on forum moderation, which tends to be unproductive, so I'm going to lock it before it gets out of hand. That said, despite the disagreements over moderation policy, WSRSW is a useful resource for learning about various Wesnoth add-ons, and I h...

Re: How about the Wesnoth for PSP ?

Iphone RAM: Original: 128MB 3G: 128MB 3GS: 256MB You can add another iPhone to that list - iPhone 4: 512 MB The simple fact of the matter is that the iPhone is much newer, more powerful hardware than the PSP. From my understanding, memory has been the overriding concern when porting Wesnoth to the ...

Re: Scenario difficulty and plot:

I agree. It does make sense for the harder scenarios to correspond to key plot points; this increases immersion (the stakes are high for the characters, as well as for the player), and minimizes frustration (the scenario feels hard "for a reason"). Of course, this is fairly advanced-level ...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: LoW Haldric II

New version of Haldric II... He got a completely new crown in the process - more tiara-ish. If he's finished now, I'm through with my list of single missing portraits and would start with a set for Liberty (Anybody knows who the maintainer is?). Haldric II is looking fantastic. I'm getting a defini...

Re: idea: Howto (Tutorial) Video

Seems to me like it would be better to use multiple replays than the same replay over and over again. Agreed. While for pedagogical purposes, it does make a lot of sense to use the same replay and highlight increasingly sophisticated aspects of it, there's a risk that the viewer will find this bori...

Re: iPhone port, Episode 3

Anyone still on here and having the same problems? I've recently upgraded to the iPhone 4, and Wesnoth seems to be working fine for me. It seems like the platform isn't quite as standardized/consistent as one might expect. Speaking of the iPhone 4, are there any plans to update Wesnoth for the Reti...

Ditto.
While welcoming newcomers to the forum is laudable, I would suggest that grave-digging a 5-month old thread is not the best way to do so. To start with, someone isn't exactly a newcomer any more after 5 months...

As such, I'm locking this thread.

Re: Hero of Allacrost - RPG project with well-developed engi

Well... I think this is okay, but I'd rather err on the side of caution and ask first, so: I see that this game is also licensed under GPL. Does that mean I can use a music track from it in a wesnoth addon, or do I have to do something additional? I would assume that, with Allacrost licensed under ...

Re: idea: Howto (Tutorial) Video

The online video idea is a good one, and practical with technologies already at hand. I must admit, I also like the idea of a replay system that could support the addition of markers, highlighting and running commentary (perhaps even in voice-over form); being able to provide narration and highlight...

Re: BfW vs mobile devices

Whenever the question is "why not port?" the answer is always "manpower". Wesnoth is fortunate enough to have a fair number of skilled coders who volunteer on the project, but porting is simply far more work than continuing to develop the PC codebase, and the more different the p...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: DW: Celadon & Gwabbo

Second, the club. Assuming he's meant to fight like a normal netcaster/entangler, then I think a heavier club would be more fitting. At the moment, I think getting hit with that would feel more like a slap than a bone-breaking strike, unless he's going to slash with the shark teeth (for blade damag...
