Maybe it is just recorded midi -> ogg...? At least some of it probably is. MOD (IT, XM, S3M, ...) also would be an alternative, smaller than .ogg, but works everywhere and sounds the same everywhere, unlike midi. OK can you get that working? get some music in that format and see how big it is and w...

Remember that turn-based games are simply a way of compensating for the inability to control all your units in real-time Although they may be turn-based because of that, they introduce strategies of enough interest and uniqueness that, even if we had the ability to control all units in a game at on...

When you play Wesnoth...
I have a problem. I want to put custom music in my campaign, but good music in OGG format (the format that Wesnoth uses) takes up too much space (file size). This is a problem for, especially, people whose downloads take a long time (slow connections), and people who don't listen to or care about th...

Your preprocessed output is wrong. The preprocessor does not generate additional # characters. So the fact that #textdomain does not eat newline characters is irrelevant here (and same for #line). Well actually I did not change the preprocessor. I just replace '\376' with '#' in the output because ...

Using CVS, I have found some problems (and check out this patch of mine , which helped me pinpoint some of them): Wesvoid.cfg, my campaign file in the normal place: {./Wesvoid/public.cfg} The inclusion fails. According to the output, it thought it was using line 1 /Users/isaac//Library/Preferences/W...

About the problem of spaces in keys, how about allowing the key to be enclosed in quotes? Note that WML variables can be created whose names contain spaces, newlines, and all kinds of other characters, which when subsequently saved seem like they could cause some trouble (though I haven't tried it)....

Facts (or at least estimates of facts): Cost to get a walking corpse, 5 gold, allows you to get about 3 to 4 of them for every normal unit. A walking corpse has only about half the hitpoints of a normal level 1 unit. A walking corpse's attacks do only about half as much damage as a normal level 1 un...

Speaking about new behavior: should the following lead to two macro arguments or only one (there is no space between the two parts)? At the moment, it is interpreted as two arguments, requiring parentheses for it to be interpreted as one single argument. {A {B}C} One argument. That is IMO much more...
