Re: great mages....

It’d not add anything to the game unless you significantly changed the attack strength, which isn’t really going to happen in mainline. Besides, it’s cool as a character trait. i dont mean change the attack strengt.just make the visual cooler. Right. But, as Shadowmaster points out, "cool ligh...

The beauty of Wesnoth, my friend. No matter how long you've been playing Wesnoth, there's always new and interesting finds to be made.

Re: Wesnoth screenshots!

I must admit, I'm curious as to the source of these two screenshots. I don't believe I've seen that particular campaign before.

Re: [mainline] Played campiagns in map as memor

Interesting idea. I agree that it's good to remind the player of their past accomplishments, and milestones on the map would be one possible way to do so. Unfortunately, there's a lot of work involved in your idea, and the devil really is in the details. Currently, no information carries over from c...

Re: do you think Age of heroes is bad or underrated?

Age of Heroes is indeed poorly balanced, for the various reasons people have mentioned above. I don't believe it's intended to be balanced, really - it's been around since ancient times, and while the Default era has been carefully honed over the years, I don't believe the multiplayer mods have spen...

Re: Walking corpses on horseback?

Actually, for a mounted unit, the "walking corpse" title refers to the undead horse. The rider just sits there.

Re: What do you if your teammate is a newb?

7. Only be on a team with people you know. 8. Only do Free-For-Alls This. I rarely play online games with perfect strangers now... I played an Isar's Cross match some time ago and players quit in less than 5 turns. :augh: I'd recommend avoiding Isar's Cross, because it attracts a lot of that kind o...

Re: Campaign art - Descent into Darkness

Final versions for old Malin : - Some minor revision to his older self, when he's become a mage in his own right under Darken Volk's teaching. - His "decayed" self, when he has fallen beyond return. I love the changes to the clothing, but the change in skin tone seems a little too drastic...

Re: Generate black backgrounds for art on install?

When GUI2 comes finally to fruition, we might conceivably be able to do away with the blank background versions entirely, I hope. It's a long way away yet, though. It doesn't have anything to do with GUI2, as it's just a one-line change in the engine to use one or the other. As pauxlo and shadowmas...

Re: New tournament

It's generally good idea to set tournament dates quite far in advance, to give more time more time for word to spread and people to sign up. Best of luck hosting, and best of luck to the participants.

Re: Copyright issues

You should also keep in mind that different countries have different copyright laws, some more restrictive than others. Generally, it's best to steer clear of the whole copyright issue altogether. As Gambit points out, you can make a mod with similar mechanics to Warcraft (four factions, peasants mi...
