Re: Spritesheets instead of single images

Honestly, IIRC, the reason why it's not done is because it's not the way it was chosen to do it, and amending all the WML and images to change schema would be a monumental amount of work for basically no benefit. Since it CABD, it could be done for newer content, but again, we have macros and code s...

Re: Books discussion

Recently finished Invasion by Mercedes Lackey and friends, and Pirate Cinema by Cory Doctorow. Loved both books, intending to post some sort of review on goodreads at some point.

Re: Wesnoth movie plan

I wouldn't, to be honest. Video game movies are, as a rule, terrible.

Re: Books discussion

Now in possession of Goodreads where, given time and motivation, I might actually get round to regularly reviewing what I'm reading. Currently, just finishing the bonus material from Zoo City, which is one of the many lovely books in the Humble Ebook Bundle https://www.humblebundle.com/ . I've been ...

Re: Amorphous's Pixel Art

Indeed. And it's worth reiterating: exaggeration is absolutely key at this scale (heck, at any scale) of animation. You need a LOT of stretch-and-squash to make an anim look good.

Re: Sleepwalker Animation Commissions WIP - Dwarves

I'd nix the motion blur on the hammer raise N, it's somewhat distracting IMO. Otherwise, looking great as usual.

Looks good, and yeah, opaque blurs should be the standard going forward.

Re: Desert Elves Edit

From an art perspective, if we're going to replace the Desert Elves, it will be with NEW sprites, not just recolours of old ones. We already have recolours of old ones. Any replacement of art assets needs to be a real, tacit IMPROVEMENT, and without wanting to be offensive to Flameslash, I know him,...

Posture-wise I like B, but I definitely feel that the skull should either be invisible or only barely visible.

Re: Standing and idle animations?

I'd prefer to see a standing anim for a wose blowing in the breeze or something like that. It just niggles at me badly to see things which, by flavour, are basically indistinguishable from oak trees, bobbing up and down and breathing.

Re: Grand Portrait List

It's probably replacement, then. I've run very short on time in recent months (as may be clear), so with that in mind, I'm happy to see it replaced.

But I'll never say no to a tutorial ;)
