I haven't played LotI in a few months (or any other campaign actually). Are there plans to extend the content or spin off more storylines or tales from it? Or has that happened? Or any other noticable changes worthy of mention? Considering it didn't change much in like 10 years... I would not reall...

I wouldn't add it to the core LotI because, for example, for some units I've added an extra level with amlas manually, the same way it's done in LotI itself. If a player leaves and another player gets added by command, which player gets the rating change? The original player or the one that got added by command? Because user amir, starting "disconnecting" when he started to lose our game, and then asked me to add a different player in instead ...

Yeah, I remember it has been tried to start replacing to wesnoth.game_events.fire but it soon turned out that this lua method isn't available on 1.16 so it had to be reverted. Creating a new branch for 1.17 specific changes in the LotI repository might be a solution ofc

Interesting. I can see that being useful if when it retreated it decided to attack another opponent behind it. Or if it retreated immediately when hit, so you could push back the enemy line. Just to be clear, my point was not "how do I play this specific save?". It was "you CAN lose (or so close to it the end is the same) before you get a chance to play". I see but my point is that you can't be blocked by elves if you calculate your moves correctly to not get stuck....

Retreat for one turn. It's stated in objectives: "A successful thunderer (and his advances) shot will cause the affected troll to flee in panic for 1 turn."
