For Humans, their resourcefulness without having any particular abilities makes them more likely to be strong, quick, intellient, and resilient. (in other words, no race-specific trait.) That is a good idea. It makes humans the reference point for showing how the other races are different. For Dwar...

...it is likely to die if it's attacks miss. uhm... hardly more likely than an average Spearman in Hills. Well, that's fine until people start paying 25gp for their spearmen. Not to mention the spearman is much more likely to do some damage on the way out. My recurring situation is this: I have a w...

I agree that Dextrous doesn't seem to fit. What you are looking at is the archer's ability to hit more vital locations on an enemy. Something like "critical shot" sounds fitting, but for the fact that all traits are currently one word. I do think each race should have one race-specific tra...

Would this be cumulative with leadership? If I had a level 3 leadership unit and a level 3 discipline unit both next to a level one unit, would that unit get a 20% bonus to its damage and a 20% bonus to its chance to hit? That would be quite powerful, methinks. I believe leadership would give 50% d...

Back on topic... I think the Gryphon Rider needs something. It's the second-fastest unit in the game, AND it flies, AND it has the second best level 1 melee attack in the game, AND it has a decent amount of HP. AND it's the most expensive L1 unit, AND it has no ranged attack, AND it's easy for it t...

Are you saying Leadership is also bad?

Ability Idea: Discipline

Works like leadership but gives adjacent lower level units an additional 10% to hit on non-magic attacks. (possibly have a cap on how high this can raise the chance - maybe say it has no effect if the chance to hit is already 70% or higher) Name of ability need not remain the same. The name was insp...

Back on topic...

I think the Gryphon Rider needs something. It is too fragile for a 25gp creature. Perhaps first strike or a few more hit points would help.

I don't want to sit and argue with a monkey, but Elvish Shamans are excellent on HttT. Entangling all of the 2-swing orcs is incredibly helpful, the healing is a lifesaver, and I don't have much trouble leveling them up at all. They have low HP, but they have good defense in forests and towns and sh...

** Post has been edited with more specific info. (I didn't really know what my girlfriend was doing to cause this problem before) I've noticed a small annoyance while playing multiplayer hotseat games. The gold and other info at the top of the screen does not update until the mouse is moved. I was P...

http://savannah.nongnu.org/patch/?group=wesnoth Thanks, I had found that page before, but I assumed only project members could submit patches. Anyway, I uploaded the .diff files and the full text files. If it my patch is used in a future release, I guess the "sun goes backwards" crowd wil...

Re: How about a BEAST FACTION?

Gigantic fiddler crabs with stone hammers that can level a forest space and turn it into grassland! Actually, I think it would be cool if it there were some creatures with map-altering effects in the game. However, since every creature action is to either move or attack, I do not see how that would...

400Mhz G3. I also change the default settings a bit, such optimizing with O3 instead of Os, but I do not know if that has much effect on compile time.

Hello, I have modified the source code for 0.8.11 to add a preferences display option to flip the sun graphics. Here are the three modified files if anybody is interested in re-compiling the game with my changes. Developers, I don't know how to go about submitting changes to you guys, so feel free t...
