Re: The Book of Crelanu
In Delf's Memoirs, Delf getting the book is essential for allowing him to close Iliah-Malal's portal of doom. Later on in DM, the book changes hands, as Asheviere gets hold of it. Anyway, DM ends with the book in Delfador's hands. In The dark hordes, Gwitti gets hold of the book. I think that lookin...

Re: Scenario Review: SoF 4 - Gathering Materials
Yes, since the map is random, I think 'kill all enemies' should be a win. It would also be more interesting than watching the miners transport the material

Re: Scenario Review: SoF 4 - Gathering Materials
Shouldn't "kill all enemies" be an automatic win?

Re: LOW - The Human Alliance - 1.7.6
The new orcish reinforcement thing is new and a big improvement over the original design. Before the strategy was to finish off fast the northernmost orcs, contain and then finish the trolls, distract the orcish onslaught from heading to the human general and also give humans some support as well as...

Re: Tweaking a mainline campaign.
I think Valley of Death on hard was difficult a VERY long time ago. Since then the only question is: do you manage to defeat all enemy leaders in time or not?(and I am only talking hard here)

Re: Scenario Review: DM 13 - The Return of Trouble
The reference is to another campaign, Legend of Wesmere(LOW) which ends in a balance of terror where no side (orcs, humans or elves) has to power to win. So kalenz reorganizes the army and retires, In Delf's time, a new strong leader has emerged to unite the orcs, so they attack humans and elves aga...

Re: Scenario Review: DM 13 - The Return of Trouble
What more story? In the last scenario Chantal explains she needs to go notify the elvish high command. Meanwhile, orcs have been attacking not just the wesnoth perimeter, but the elvish perimeter as well. So makes sense that the elves would send troops there to defend it. I think this is a plus for ...

Re: Delfadors Memoirs, Terror at the Ford of Parthyn (resolved)
Here's a replay. Basically the strategy is as outlined: Use the elves to hold the orcs in the forest, then man the walls and fend off the undead

Re: I can't beat Elvish Treasury, help!
Should not be a problem. Here are some replays(on hard). I think Saurian treasury is by far the hardest(especially if you want to avoid losing loyal units). Make sure to give Tameril-Isimeril and Arkildur as much XP as possible in Elvish treasure, maybe level them:

Re: Scenario Review: LoW 7 - Elves' Last Stand
Not overrecruiting is part of solid wesnoth strategy. TROW is particularly dependent on it and so are most other campaigns. Remember that campaigns are designed so you can win easily on easy, with modest play on medium and with significant efficiency on hard. If you cross these design requirements, ...

You should have gotten 1800 gold in scenario 5. How did you end up wasting it all?
The key to the previous scenario is DON't OVERRECRUIT.

Re: gold problem in LoW -- Breaking the Siege
Just a correction: The dwarves are not useless, IMHO: I send 3 dwarvish lords to take out the eastern commander; Once they get there(which does take sometime), they make short work of the orcs; unlike the elves who would have to fight in unfavorable terrain. I also take exception to Human Alliance b...
