Yeah, it looked like a loaf of bread to me.

Other than that, pretty good. I don't really fancy the way the nose is. I think it has to do with the lack of outline towards the right.

This is unnecessary. The Paladin still has a lance (which does loads of damage) and choosing Pillager over Goblin Knight is a tactical consideration. Otherwise you are asking for an extra attack on each unit. Cuz thats exactly what you have described. Edit: Also, Holy damage is no more. It has been ...

I think you should move his helmet down a notch or two. Right now he looks sorta like a conehead.

It would be awesome for story art if not the actual portrait.

I would say keep doing these, even if they don't get into mainline. When people start realizing that the other campaigns have nicer art than mainline they'll get around to changing stuff. :D

You could add some caves in the middle with a token village for some added flavor. I mean like have 5 small caves that only connect to the ring. I don't think it would change the tactics all that much since there would probably be less than 5 actual cave hexs per cave. Maybe they could go at he base...

I think that the only modification that should be made to the dragonstick is that the stock should be a bit less angular. I also think that the weapon's barrel should be seen, unless the machinations of a dragonstick are different from that of an actual flintlock musket. Speaking of which, I think ...

ok, focusing on the gun... 1) it might be a bit too long, now that it's thin, such a long gun looks weird 2) the dragon needs to open his mouth a bit more, the mouth should be as large as the barrel to let the bullet go through... http://www.strongblade.com/prod/prodimages/sbc-fl-dragongun1_th.jpg ...

Uh, sorry, but i think you overcompensated there on the thundastick barrel.
Kinda makes it look like a cone, with the pointy end as the mouth of the thundastick...

Personally, i don't think that the red and orange used in Wesnoth are close enough to be confused for each other. But i am surprised that there is no yellow team. And i think it's annoying that purple shows up as magenta (or rather, pink) on the minimap.

Is it just me or does it look like the mace handle is thinner just below the spot that he holds it?

Other than that, awesome work!
