> you mean to gain 8 HP per kill? Now that I think of it, berseker with several accumulated kills would be a nuke on wheels. But perhaps heal by [n] and if fully healed then increase by [n]/2 (or [n]/4)? Healing by 8 HP is nothing new and could be made non-accumulative with normal healing. Edit: And...

Uhm! Seems like a nice idea: every time a maxed unit would gain [n] XP it gains [n] HP instead. Reset after the end of scenario. I'm an avid fan of after-max-level advancement, but I guess I could live with such a solution. With this, killing blow delt by Delfador is no longer a disaster (at least a...

Hi, I'm a newbe player myself (though I've begun my newbehood when Wesnoth was still soft). Walkthroughs are boring to read but fun to write, as any newbe can find someting to boast about and slip that in. :) Fulk d'Anjou, would you like only more walkthtoughs, or can I comment on your strategies, d...

heh heh... if you're worried about what I did to the unit system, you should play level 4. After miraculously completeting scenario 1 (Medium), now I'm stuck at scenario 2. Hopeless. But don't spoil me. :) However, the fact that you renamed the units makes me a bit less worried. (If the naming was ...

I was thinking: perhaps leave the outlaws' max level at 2, as it is, but invent some 3rd level unit with leadership to go with them and additionally use the after-max-level advancement. This way they should be playable without forking our unit system. In fact outlaw's innate lack of advancement woul...

Nice dialog. I have heard that the greater danger lies in the sea route, but also that great help lies there. This one is a little unlikely. Perhaps something like (pardon my poor English): My heart tells me that the greater danger lies in the sea route, but also an unforseen help waits there. or be...

Re: Observations from a random guy
First, about the difficulty. Perhaps we could add a Supenoob difficulty level, where the minimum gold the player can have at the beginning of each level is not 100 but 200, then on Hyperyeek 500 and on Turbowimp make it 1000. Still turn limits can be a pain, especially if a noob stays in keep foreve...

if you completely surround any unit, it seems that they do not attack. I'll have to look into that  If it is anything more than the AI deciding it would be suicidal to attack that will probably get fixed. Muh, ha, ha I always use the trick to milk high level enemy leaders. I lure to them t...

Re: Scenario Review: Bay of Pearls
make more interesting stuff when Bugg dies  Perhaps something like "Oh he had on him the map to the hidden native mermen settlements nearby. They were planning an assault on them, apparently. Great, we spoiled their plans, and moreover now we can recruit mermen!". But change the tex...

Re: Idea: 3D Cutscenes
I think that if we had a nice, appropriate 3D (pre-rendered [1]) sequence at the start of Wesnoth, and perhaps at the start or end of major campaigns, it could add alot to the atmosphere of the game, and add to the feel of Wesnoth as a high-quality, professional-grade game. Oh, those stubborn luser...

No, I said Gryphon Riders and I meant Gryphon Riders. A 13-2 unit for 32 gold should not be the same level as a 4-2 unit for under half the price. It just feels wrong. You are right. Even if the 4-2 is a drain attack. But both have flying and lots of movement points, so they are both strong and so ...

You can still use the suicide Walking Corpse strategy, so the flavour is not lost. And if you mean the leader assasination with suicide bats will be hard --- leaders hardly ever level up, so this could still be possible.Elvish Pillager wrote:No way! How can I use my suicide bat strategy when my opponents level up?!?!
