Some battle type piece

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted here, mainly because my job requires me to constantly be traveling, and I rarely have free time to be on the internet. But what it DOES do is allow me some free time to write some music. The last time I posted something, some of you had mentioned that my mus...

Re: The King is Dead - third-party arrangements

I'm working on a piano transcription of Battle.ogg as well. It's almost completed, just need to perfect a couple more measures. I'll post a youtube video soon.

Re: the king is dead

Ok, first thing you NEED to do is get THIS book, and get recordings of those songs, learn them and start gigging with them. That's the best way to get good at improvising and soloing, is to just listen to the pro's. Vince Gauraldi is one of my favorite soloists, he's so laid back and in the pocket, ...

Re: the king is dead

well since i can't log onto the internet on the ship, and I have ProTools and leopard/vista, there is no compatability patch I can download, so until I get to a place where I can download the update for ProTools 7.3 I can't use my Mbox. Here is the pdf for the lead sheet. I know this is taking a whi...

Re: the king is dead

Wouldn't that be nice. If I can figure out the Korg Triton maybe I can record on mp3 within the board and then bounce it to an mp3 and transfer it via usb to my computer, anyone know triton boards? I know TimothyP uses them...

Re: the king is dead

Yeah i'm still here. I have a lead sheet but still no recording. The stage staff on this ship are pricks and won't let me use the microphones to record, so I can either use my [censored] macbook microphone or try to talk to my musical director and see if he can talk to them.

Re: the king is dead

Sorry for the delay, I just recently moved back on to a cruise ship for another 6 month contract. I have a lead sheet for The King is Dead and I will record a piano arrangement for it tonight, and transcribe it. Only thing is, I can't use my computer to connect to the internet, so I will have to wai...

Re: the king is dead

That would be a question for West, I could make a piano transcription for you if you want, it's a bad ass song, I know. Give me a couple days and i'll arrange a piano score. It's a very simple piece, but it's absolutely beautiful.

Re: Papelmedia soundfont

I would either go with West's SSO, or just save up and get EWQL Silver, it only cost me $150, which is about €100, and it's actual instruments.

Those synths are ok, but if you're serious about making great quality music, than i'm sorry but it just won't cut it.

Quick question guys...

I know this is off topic from Wesnoth, but I am thinking of installing my EWQLSO library on an External HDD and was wondering if this is a practical thing to do. If I am not mistaken, all of the instruments (once loaded in the DAW) are loaded into RAM correct? So I will not be streaming them from my...

Unofficial Guide to EWQLSO

Thought this might be helpful, someone from G.A.N.G. (which all of you should be members of if you're interested in Game Audio), just emailed this to me, which is an unofficial guide to the EWQLSO.

Re: Just messing around...

Here are the 2 trumpet tracks I have right now : http://www.tyler-johnson.net/wesnoth/victory_tpet.mp3 As you can hear, the last 3 notes were obviously recorded seperate as they sound completely different. That being said, how do I make these last 3 notes sound like the previous ones...I'm looking t...
