Re: Drakes - some thoughts on Drake society, biologie and origin

If they were stronger they would likely to participate in battle . Also - it is a common property of all known intelligent species ;) I guess similar developments may occure during division of labour in gathering-hunting society. I don't think you realize this, but the point is to make drakes seem ...

Re: Drakes - some thoughts on Drake society, biologie and origin

Well - but there may be cultural/physical small diversity. Well female are for example weaker and smaller but can handle pencil etc. so they are priests, scribes, artists etc. Meh, why would the females be weaker? It's not like they're humans. If they were stronger they would likely to participate ...

Re: Drakes - some thoughts on Drake society, biologie and origin

do you think a drake could still mate with a dragon in the wild...? Going from our current description of drakes and dragons, that would be considered pedophilia. ;) Well - since drakes can mate it would not (well - it would be at most sex with the underaged, or how this legal term is in English). ...

Re: Scripts for Wesnoth

If possible I'd add my $0.03: - Base 14 counting is a bad idea. 14 is divised by 2 and 7. In practice humans used mostly sort-of 12-based system. Therefore I think that 12-based (Dozen, Gross - in my native language there is kopa which means 60 but I haven't found the translation) system or 16-based...

Re: Bat descriptions

Because of their disadvantages in size and strength, vampire bats are more often used by their masters as scouts, rather than regular fighters. However, if they do enter combat, are preserved by their ability to drain health from their enemies. If a bat's fangs can get a grip in it's adversary's fl...

Re: Drakes - some thoughts on Drake society, biologie and origin

ref 1) tells us that Drakes weight "more than a man and a horse combined". With (ref 2) I estimate this is around 600kg (80kg human + 500kg horse). I compare this to food requirements of birds, (ref 3). Birds of Prey have a food requirment of 5-8% of their Body weight per day. For an upper bound I ...

Re: Vampires in Wesnoth

Hmm. Maybe the wesfolk have been banished after some sort of doctrinal conflict? Just an idea - lichdom and vampirism is two discovered ways of quesi-eternality. The liches, leaders of Wesfolk, which weren't totally corrupted at this point, accused the vampires about prolonging their vanity by sucki...

Re: Wesnoth calendar

Personally I see different races using different calenders. Elves - One of the oldest races of Wesnoth and with their longer lifespan I can see them having a more complex calender (i.e. one which repeats every 7-12 years or along those lines). Perhaps something linked to plants or lifecycles, somet...

Re: Intro

However - if possible - make the intro simultanious with loading. On modern multi-core CPU it shouldn't be problem at all and on older ones the intro woudn't take 100% CPU anyway.

Re: Role of Fencers?

I disagree. Averages are not everything. If I could play this game 10,000 times, I would. However, if I could only play once, I wouldn't. Why? If I play 10,000 times, then the probability of me losing money is practically zero (erm, z-score of ~160 by my calculations. I'll gain money one google / 1...

Re: Role of Fencers?

I'm pretty sure that the definition of the word skirmish is to harass the enemy's artillery and tanks to allow yours to get into a more effective position. Maybe in larger fights with enough skirmishing units nearby, maybe you could have them all go straight for the enemies support, healers, or mag...

Re: Undead Unit Promotion Guide

Ghoul Ghouls are great units to use against any faction, but are Necrophage’s a significant enough improvement to warrant giving experience to? Necrophages have a slightly better attack and slightly better HP but are they really much more useful than Ghouls? I think that your exp is better distribu...

Re: Who?

There was on 1.4.x a campaign based in transformation period. New order or something like that. Personally I disliked it (as an element of history - not the campaign itself).
