Re: Help for New Abilities and Weapon Specials

I think this should work to check whether there is an adjacent unit with a lower level adjacent. I didn ttest it though and im not an expert on wesnoth frmoula filte syntax so it might not work. formula = "def adjacent_occupied_locs(loc) filter( adjacent_locs(loc), 'loc', unit_at(loc) != null() ); s...

Code: Select all

          [filter_self]
              formula="(($this_unit.max_hitpoints -1+1) / ($this_unit.hitpoints -1+1)) > 2"
          [/filter_self]
If you use formula you don't need to use $this_unit, you can just write: formula="max_hitpoints / hitpoints > 2"

Re: Help for New Abilities and Weapon Specials

Fighter Spirit: I am not sure how to do it. I think you will have to give the unit two different weapon specials. One increases damage, the other decreases it. Then you can do something like this for finding the lower-level units: [filter_adjacent] level="$($this_unit - 1)" [or] level="$($this_unit...

Re: Allow more new api in stable releases

I guess I'm not really understanding what you're meaning by at the same time saying that it should be allowed because it will be useful but also won't cause many problems because not many people will use the new features. Those sound contradictory to me. No it's not, it useful for people to use it ...

Re: Allow more new api in stable releases

For the part "Addons that don't need new featutes will still work on older wesnoth version, and addons that use the new features probably wouldn't exist on stable in the first place. " - is that what you meant to write? If add-ons that use newly added features wouldn't exist on stable in the first ...

Re: Allow more new api in stable releases

The main concerns I have are: While there's no data on SP, for MP there's still about 1/3 of the player base that's not using a distribution method that supports automatic updates (SourceForge and Linux distros, essentially), so moving to a model that could cause problems for 1/3 of our MP players ...

Re: 1.15 Roadmap Discussion thread

So i added these point to that wiki page, note however that the last part 'readd dunefolk to WCII' is something i probably cannot do myself. Is there a particular person whose help you'd need, or is it a different type of problem? No not specific person, its mostly about balance, and i'm not that g...

Re: 1.15 Roadmap Discussion thread

So i want do to basciaiyll 3 things: 1) The api to add features in 1.16, this is in particular the campaignd part 2) mainlining WCII, this ideally invonved some work from other in particular wrt to re-adding the dunefolk faction 3) Some api changes that in particular result in less macro usage and (...

Re: 1.15 Roadmap Discussion thread

I don't think it makes sense to have goals for certain 1.15 releses. We have goals for 1.16 and that's it it probably doesn't matter too much in whcih 1.15 release it will go.

Allow more new api in stable releases

Currently we have a rule not to allow new api in stable releases (1.16). This however has some major problems: During development releases we simply don't know what people (umc authors) might need, so if we want to add something we have two options: 1) Add it and risk not only doing for for nothing,...

Re: Help for New Abilities and Weapon Specials

Fighter Spirit - Weapon Special that does more damage to higher-level targets, while lower-level targets take more insignificant damage. Last Resort - Weapon Special that allows the unit to battle twice if the HP is 25% or less. Strengthening - Ability that significantly increases the unit's resist...

Re: [Proposal] Standard Release Schedule

This is something loonycyborg and hrubymar would need to confirm, but I don't think the non-Steam releases take a huge amount of extra effort - the steps needed to create the updated flatpak, macOS dmg (aside from the image signing required by Apple), and Windows installer executable are actually d...

Re: [Proposal] Standard Release Schedule

So my thought on the stable release scedule: First i want to say that i think that especially with the introduction of steam and the resulting reduced 'work' of users to install a new version we should definitely do it more often then we used to do. In fact i think it does make sense to give steam u...
