Re: Betrayal of Thaeylan: 2p campaign
thaeylan-storymap.png Version 2.1 is now available on the 1.16 addon server. This version adds a journey map of Ardunynn as well as several easter eggs and secret achievement bonuses. Let me know if you find one! This release also ties up a few loose ends introduced in Order of Oerbrae , the sequel...

Yeah! Very nice. Those are from The Væringjar with some minor adjustments to the sprites to fit their new roles.

Re: Order of Oerbrae - SP campaign
Order for Oerbrae 1.0.3 is now on the addon server. This is a maintenance release that fixes a number of small issues mentioned above. Thanks to everyone for playing and leaving your feedback. The Ardunynn MP Era is obviously very fresh, but have you considered adding it as a dependency for your ca...

Re: Order of Oerbrae - SP campaign
Thanks for playing Mirion147! Can we talk about the cliffs in this campaign They are very cool, but very hard to use well. A bunch of transitions just don't work. And if you place a cliff tile without another one next to it, it's invisible on the map and you only find out when you can't access the t...

Re: Order of Oerbrae - SP campaign
Thanks Konrad! A fun watch as always! It seems like from scenario 3 it just got easier and easier for you. Is that how you found it? I'm thinking about working on a nightmare difficulty. But did you feel the hard difficulty felt "right" for an intermediate-level campaign, or too easy? Ever...

Re: [mainline] there is a need for a en_US translation
My bad. At my work the fuzzy designation is manually added by developers when needed.Celtic_Minstrel wrote: ↑April 15th, 2022, 1:59 pm I think this idea is missing the fact that strings are marked fuzzy automatically by the msgmerge(?) tool. It's not like the fuzzy marking is something intentionally added by a developer.

Re: Proposals to improve new player experience
Thanks for the stats. It would be interesting if that same stat, with uniqueness, could be identified over a 6-12 month period, in order to answer the question: are mp players sticking around for longer than sp players or vice-versa? But I suspect 90-95% of players probably never play anything excep...

Re: Proposals to improve new player experience
Scenarios and achievements are probably the biggest change for the Wesnoth community, so I wanted to provide a little more detail. Another way to think of achievements is to think of them as community challenges . At the moment, new content typically comes from addons. Players must wait 2-4 years be...

Re: Proposals to improve new player experience
I'm kind of wondering how Under the Burning Suns (and a large number of user-made campaigns) would fall into that system when they don't actually fit into that timeline. I was thinking that the map image and the timeline would be configurable by the campaign. This would also help scenarios, which o...

Re: [mainline] there is a need for a en_US translation
This may not apply to Wesnoth's translation workflow, but at my work we use the fuzzy distinction to address this precise problem. We mark a msgid entry as fuzzy to indicate to the translator that they may wish to review their translation, but don't need to because it's meaning is broadly the same. ...

Proposals to improve new player experience
Describe the problem you would like to solve It can be difficult for a new player to know where to start, because there are so many campaigns, scenarios, factions and addons. The large number of choices is disorienting and this can reduce a new player's confidence. With more choices, they are also ...
