Re: Other artists inspirations and References
Not sure if/how much east asian-themed material we have (so far) in the wesnothian metaverse, but i'm doing mostly japanese stuff @ wikimedia currently, & have some very nice items, so i'll be doing that as a "theme" on & off 1st item a 200+ yr old japanese painting, art-scraped fr...

Re: Wesnoth IRL
well, this is where a difference lies: between developers & fans
if we DON'T get crazy ppl (fans) dressing up as our characters & acting goofy, then it probably means that we didn't do our jobs right...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
don't have a problem with the scabbard & bow aligning, that works as long as the shading defines the depth & spacing; but the scabbard looks a wee bit too short for the blade he's holding...

Re: Other artists inspirations and References
back after an unintended absence; here's a change of pace, also old public domain art & from wmc reminds me of an image from one of the old myth-series rts games, but as the painting is considerably older, i expect the original inspiration was the other way around... "apotheosis" (will...

Re: Looking for Hi-res Art/Scans/Screenshots Preferably GFDL/CC
that would be extremely cool of you! 2000x2000 px is probably good enough for anything up to a wall poster :lol2: & in the event that i ever actually get any sales the offer stands for splitting the profits with the artist, project, or both (in cash or in merchandise @cost, as preferred) thus fa...

Re: Frogger's sprites critique please
i understand what you're saying, & "group shots" are a possibility, but i was thinking it would be neat for people to be able to get a mini-button with their favourite character, specifically. i can enlarge the sprites enough onscreen/in-game i just can't get it to work (well enough) w...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
added (quickie) button designs for the orc assassin & grunt @ relicsofwesnoth; interested in feedback (was thinking of starting a topic thread for design feedback, but not sure where to put it on the forum?) aside from my previously-stated opinions, i think they're quite good; certainly far bett...

Re: Frogger's sprites critique please
hey; 1. very cool! i like the 6-legged lizard especially; wish i had one :lol2: 2. any ideas where/how i could find sprite art that will enlarge enough to do as buttons? (minimum 1-inch disc) (not sure if it would be better to have the sprites "smooth" or pixel-lated; both maybe? opinions ...

Re: Wesnoth IRL
i've seen his work (fmunoz) both on here & @ store. he's quite a good artist, but he never really did anything with the store except a few shirts with some of his early wesnoth art, years ago; no recent updates there as far as i could tell. again; not that i'm expecting much out of it, but i'm d...

Re: Other artists inspirations and References
ok, new image (sorry it's been so long): from wikimedia commons, landscape this time; again by Albrecht Dürer, since i'm sorting some of his stuff @ wmc the harbour @ antwerp, 1520 (public domain); 1st image is much better quality, & could be used directly in a campaign, as appropriate; whole or...

Re: Wesnoth IRL
well; there are fans for ''everything'' these days, & wesnoth does have its own set(s) of unique references. i do agreed that most of the people on here are developer-oriented rather than end-users; if we ever get a real "wesnoth-central" for gamers/fans, then this topic would fit nice...
