Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

There's no reason you should need to sacrifice wolves. Did you notice that you can recruit an extra goblin per turn from the fortress? This can be helpful. Making intelligent goblins was a design choice, I really didn't want to do a whole campaign about stupid characters. Dumb gobos might be more tr...

Re: Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

Hi Evander, Okay, I'm not sure why you're having too much trouble ... you just need to move your gobos to the fortress to the north and hold out a little while, then move northwest. You'll lose some goblins but since you've beat all the mainline campaigns you already know that. What difficulty are y...

Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

Pyrophorus, when I said "limit recruitment" I did not mean there would be no quick units at all. The first round of recruits ought to be notrait (as of version 1.1.6) however there will be some quick units later. I hope they will not be able to overwhelm Clammie & Kennison as they some...

Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

Matt, thanks for your many comments. Before getting into specifics, a general comment: I found it very hard in my own campaign to set up "running scenarios" (as in, running away from something) that only have one or few units and are not either trivial or unstable. I actually have come to ...

Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

You can close the door at 7,17 by walking out of that hex and re-entering it. Glad you're enjoying the campaign. having trouble on "it takes a swampling"...got to the south end of the hall of unstable columns, and my goblin (whos name I just drew a blank on) says to kennison, what's this t...

Re: Swamplings Art Thread - comments greatly appreciated

Let's say it's finished until the magical day when someone draws an original sprite. I have a few other things I want to include in the next update, but hopefully I'll have something ready in about a week. If animation seems too overwhelming, just think in terms of an attack frame, a defense frame, ...

Re: Some interesting naga units

fmac - to fix your poison problem, simply look at a unit that has a ranged poison attack (i.e., human or orc assassin) and copy how it's done in the cfg file. I'm not sure a race that has 7 movement points really needs a scout, but it would be interesting to give them a mage or a unit with impact da...

I've always been fascinated by these firsthand accounts, they're much more interesting than some of the random bather in this thread.

Re: [art] 'Camp' icon on the Continent Map

Sorry for the bum steer. When an art contributor gives you his time, definitely listen and take his advice. Maybe this will be helpful: I've noticed you occasionally misspell "tent" as "text" for example: I don't have any semi transparency on the texts ATM, should I add some? Thi...

Re: Long live democracy

About a mile from my home, there is a statue. It's rather striking. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3197/3157388720_b75e824985.jpg It's the kind of thing you see, and you want to do some research to figure out what it's about. I suppose that's the idea. The more I dug into the story of Katyn and what...

Re: Long live democracy

The thread is about Poland's independence. If there was a thread about say, the Emancipation Proclamation and I came in and said "slavery's not so bad, at least the slaves got free health care," that would be sorta like taking a poop in the punchbowl wouldn't it? And I'd expect to be calle...

I'll post some screenshots tomorrow .. this looks good to me. Thanks. EDIT: Here you go. cutthroat_in_swamp.png cutthroat_in_cave.png I must say the level of brokenness of Wesnoth 1.9 on Mac OS X has risen to new peaks. I can't even get the debug menu to trigger while in windowed mode and the game o...

Re: Long live democracy

I personally love Democracy. Give a big "Yahoo!" to the red, white, and blue! Communism isn't a terrible thing, as long as the people living there don't mind it and if it was unanimously voted in as the country's political stance. Reading some of the history of communism in Poland would i...

It is an improvement. But the third skull is so tiny it just looks like a mistake. I think you should remove it.
