Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
Uh we're talking about the undead I thought.. they are much slower than the northerners due to inferior movetype and lack of quick traits. Same goes for the Knalgans. Loyalists are probably closest but the presence of fencers, and horsemen and Cavalry skew it to them as well. Northerners are 2 on m...

Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
I'd say Northerners, Undead & Knalgan are all approximately on par (overall) as far as how "slow" they are.Noy wrote:Err, I meant slower.

Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
What are you talking about? Undead are very far from the slowest faction, most of the units are about average, and then they've got Ghosts & Bats, in case you've forgotten them. Plus, Ghosts have Arcane (Melee) and Cold (Ranged) which are the drake's major weaknesses. Name a faster one. Faster?...

Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
Not more of an advantage than drakes have over them. Undead are generally considered the slowest faction, while drakes are the fastest, so the 19-2 damage of the adept at night does not come in as often as the undead player will like. What are you talking about? Undead are very far from the slowest...

Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
Terrain is an obstacle to where you are going and an asset once you get there (the former sapping move points, the latter giving you your defensive rating). This is especially telling while on the offensive because the enemy has had a chance to grab all the good spots first and their ZoC further li...

Re: 1.6 SP Campaign: Bad Moon Rising (~30 scenarios) 0.8.6
The player is supposed to be able to build up some stash. I wouldn't have thought ~80g per skirmish was too much, but maybe it is. Ah, okay, I see. It probably isn't a concern for the majority of players then, but I used the skirmishes to build up a bunch of Level 3s :) Heads up that it is nowhere ...

Re: 1.6 SP Campaign: Bad Moon Rising (~30 scenarios) 0.8.6
Just wanted to drop by and say I'm replaying the BMR again (love it, probably my favorite [set] of campaigns.. also noticed you now have BMR4, cool!). Anyway, BMR 0.8.6, running on BfW 1.6.4... The 1st Ukiah scenario where you get skirmishes if you go into the snow, well, the leader, while having 25...

Re: Can't connect to multiplayer.
Are you connected to the internet wireless or through ethernet/dial-up?
If wirelessly, is there a specific authentication you have to go through (i.e. PEAP-GTC)
What Wesnoth version are you using? Operating System?
Is Wesnoth blocked from accessing certain ports?

Re: 1.7.6 "Friendly unit sighted" label bug
I am unable to tell from your image, but this can happen if you sight 1 friendly unit, then click to another hex (as you said you did) and uncover more friendly units. Has always happened since I started playing, as the first label doesn't disappear off the screen fast enough.

If I recall correctly save/reload can corrupt replays, but it isn't an intentional feature.

Re: scons noob - "prefix=/" not enough for everything?
Because, it is trying to create a directory in /var, which you have to be root to create/delete files/folders in.
/var/run/wesnothd: Permission denied
Code: Select all
Mkdir("/var/run/wesnothd")
scons: *** [/var/run/wesnothd] /var/run/wesnothd: Permission denied

Re: Missing Dwarves in Multiplayer
Aethaeryn - While not an experienced Wesnoth MP Player, I disagree - because of the terrain perspective, it is extremely hard to definitively classify any faction into a specific tier. Also, I feel they reveal a basic lack of knowledge when they say "Of course inside each side there are better ...
