Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

Please forgive my inactivity in the development of this campaign over the past few months. I am simply posting to remind anyone still following that I still do care about this campaign. I have been caught between summer reading projects for school and playing other video games and haven't been devel...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

The new units are fun as well, the necromancer with its magic spawning zombies... (Will he spawn lizard zombies after the famous mission, they would move better and benefit from a better defense). I could not really enjoy though the skeleton mage for the same above reason (too slow). The necromance...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

Are you still working on this one? I found it promising at my first trial... :) Yes I'm still working on it... ...slowly. I am working on this thing alone, and my life is full of distractions from it. I am glad you find it promising, but I'd like you to know I'm open to suggestions. I have a very g...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I have recently released the newest version of the campaign online with an early version of a confrontation with Mal-Hekuba which you may know from UtBS and IftU. This is meant to be an incredibly difficult scenario. What I'm working on right now is making Mal-Hekuba attack in waves; after you defea...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I pretty much gave up on Fool's Errand due to trying to make a scenario like that, and I don't know when I'll be able to bother going back and finishing the job. Thus my recommendation is... don't bother. The only purpose of such a scenario would be to portray an exceedingly long journey. On the ot...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

The third scenario was going to be one similar to the second scenario in UtBs in which you cross a large desert area. Then a thought occurred to me. Why is it needed? This army crosses desert with every dot on the map; if something happens, then something happens and is manifested as a scenario. Sur...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I said "Ranvan becomes a lich or otherwise becomes undead ." Yes it's very predictable, but I plan to make it not exactly a lich. I'd like to say that it would be kind of silly for him to start out undead; he hasn't discovered that power yet when the campaign starts. Here are some alternat...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I stand by my statement that knowledge is power. It is very predictable that Ranvan becomes a lich or otherwise becomes undead, so he'll have eternity to study. More than that, Alduin contains historical and geographic records which aside from being interesting, are useful in the pursuit of conquest...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I was thinking about the whole Insects>Walking Corpses, or Wild Wolves>Riding Corpses thing, so I'm glad that someone else noticed that. Also for desert fighters you could check out the Agrowathi of BEEM. They fight well in the desert, so they could make a good challenge. Humans in the desert may b...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

i havent played the campaign yet, nor am i going to have time for the next two weeks, but the main character seems pretty power crazy and bent on world domination to me(learning necromancy and salvaging the libraries of Alduin for power). Or maybe its just me Um, yeah, he's power crazy. When I rele...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

Saurians don't suck in the sand.... Actually, that idea already came to my mind. Right now I'm kind of experimenting. The scenario I'm building right now is one a scenario in which you go across the desert, giving me a chance to experiment with things such as randomly respawning units, randomly won...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

I just thought of this. There could be trade outs. For Example: If you get the trolls, a horseman brings up something like, "Sir, The horses are frightened of these... beasts. I'm afraid if they travel with us we will have no control of them in battle." So you choose, lose the ability to ...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

If this is gonna have a lot of desert fighting then you are gonna have to make some more custom units to fight against, cuz the ones in there now are too easy. I presume that this means units that don't suck when fighting in sand? Makes sense. But- -A. I am limited in time and patience for making c...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

The second scenario has been "finished," meaning that it is playable and has the events in place, but the map is horrible and the scenario likely unbalanced. Keep in mind that the second scenario in this campaign is meant to be relatively easy, as it is a test of the power that necromancy ...

Re: Resurection of Wesnoth Campaign

But... but the DA line is already wearing black robes... or are they not dark enough for you? Do I see differently than you? That is not black. That is an awkward shade of green. green black Now, my version may look so dark it's ridiculous in your opinion, but: A. I don't want it to be the same ima...
