Re: Modify saved map to allow mod

It should mean finding place where scenario events are, adding those from xp mod, and also all the variables that are usually created from settings. Adding stuff to scenario before start is much easier, I did it all the time with 1.10 that did not support modifications. So, the question is, how do ...

Modify saved map to allow mod

In this case, i'm playing Return From Captivity and wanted to modify a saved file to allow xp modification mod. At first, i created a new map with the mod actived, saved and copied the differences, but this method produced crashes, (maybe because some setup that had to happen at the beggining?). I'd...

But yes, when it's been 5 years since the last response lol.

That's what happened to DotG. The greatest add-on ever! (jk)
Now i want to know the story on why did you respond after one year.

Re: Feedback on Wesnoth from a year's old user

I think it's pretty unlikely that someone who has problems with WML would have had a better time with python. Maybe someone who already knew python and didn't care to learn WML would have a better time. Python is actually well known as an easy and powerful scripting language which puts a lof of emp...

Re: How to save Wesnoth

Time requirements for multiplayer were far too high for me, I can play a game or two of Go in the time of a single MP match, and in the more casual settings I found it pretty hard to get even a half decent game, without people dropping out e.g. after 10 minutes in a coop. I always thought multiplay...

Re: How to save Wesnoth

Interesting read, and i didn't know anything about that card game. From your thoughts, i can see that you dont believe the game can move forward if the community does not care. But first i'd say it is normal in a game that have been in development for so many years. I'd like to know the point of vie...

Re: How to save Wesnoth

I think it's a bad sign to complain about players/community members. It usually means something you cannot change. Addons supply more fun, but what makes people play the game is the core. For every addon out there, some will like it and some not, but it is fair to say that, if you took the time to s...

Re: How to save Wesnoth

I think we can agree that ui fixes and ai improvements will not affect how the players experience the game. As max and ungeheuerlich says, once the game has nothing new to provide, people will stop caring to play it. You can still play from time to time, but what makes the community grow or stable i...

Re: For a dying project, you are incredibly arrogant

Luck system has been there for always. It cannot be a problem when it has been there since the very beggining. if wesnoth had only 1 or 2 years, you could argue that. But after almost 10 years :x ...

Re: Lets learn from Spring and think about the future of Wes

Well, i have given it a thought and this is a list of things i dislike about the game, and my naive solution. * I think we can agree the main selling point of bow is its mp gameplay, and i think every consideration is executed from this point of view. But mp is actually a pain in the ass: Finding a ...

Re: Lets learn from Spring and think about the future of Wes

Maybe is time for building construction feature? Maybe a limited one (like some kind of units that can build if they don't move). BoW is a fantastic game, but its features make the experience limited, so unless you add a new feature, i don't see why someone would be interested in playing after years...
