Problem resuming a saved MP campaign (V1.12)
Hi all, Me and my kids are trying some MP campaigns but we have trouble resuming a game we saved earlier. I was the host and I saved the game. When I try to resume the game I do Multiplayer/Host Networked Game. Then I do Create Game and then Load Game. The game appears to load fine and we can resume...

Re: Android support thread
I have the same problem with the WML error about the text not fitting. This is on an ASUS Transform 300T with 1280x800 resolution and Android 4.0.3
This is a bit of a bummer as it prevents any game from playing really.

Re: Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
Thanks to all the comments I updated the campaign. Here is a summary of the changes: Removed all unneeded linebreaks in text. Based on the comments here made the first four scenarios a bit more complicated (less money to be earned and less loopholes for the player to exploit). At least I hope. I als...

Re: Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
Ok, but that's annoying to edit in my editor.melinath wrote: Wesnoth already breaks lines for you. The way you have it now is forcing newlines... you need to remove the newlines you're forcing and let the engine do its work.
But ok, if that's how it should be...

Re: Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
Hmm I see. The way I put it in the scenario file is as follows: [part] story= _ "This is the world of Warda. Once a place were war raged, it is now home to the three free races: The Palintorians, the Gismosians, and the Vastorians. For hundreds of years there has been peace, but now things are ...

Re: Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
Some breaks in the text lines at random spots, starts a new line. I don't understand what you mean by this? Can you give an example? Scenario 3 - I like the directed map, emphasizes the player must move to the end. -Still easy, I just used the orcs as experience fodder, and still had plenty of gold...

Re: Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
hi, been playing on BfW 1.6.4 with default difficulty. comments so far: - i like the adventure style and the story loadedness - technically fine done, no errors for me, you might just consider adding 01_ and so on in front of your scenario names - for default difficulty it seemed a bit easy to me w...

Campaign: Warda: A Hidden Threat
Hi all, Me and my two oldest children are creating a fictional world called Warda. As one part of this fictional world (but not the only one) we are busy creating a Battle of Wesnoth campaign. The campaign is called 'Warda: A Hidden Threat' and has four functional but not really balanced scenarios. ...

Re: Confused about translations
There's no such wiki. If you use linux it's more or less easy. You just need to copy a few files into the right places, edit the name, run make and the .pot is generated. From that master copy the .po files are made. Much of this is homegrown stuff, I think most was invented by developers who have ...

Re: Confused about translations
Um, I don't understand that. Don't I have to make two versions of every config file then? That's a bit hard to edit (for the scenario logic) afterwards isn't it? Sorry, again. That was what I thought about two versions. I misunderstood your question. I prefer to only have one config file for every ...

Re: Confused about translations
BTW, one question that hasn't been answered yet is: 'how do you actually make a translation work?'. Let's say I add a [story] section to a scenario and I want it to work in Dutch and English immediatelly. How can I do it? Is there a manual or wiki explaining the steps to do just that? i.e. I want t...

Re: Confused about translations
There's no reason you couldn't use Dutch for all the displayed text (names, messages, story, etc.) Only the markup has to be in English. If you want a wider audience to have access, I imagine you could add English later... Also, no need to be shy! If it's not ready, publish it, be able to use wesca...

Re: Confused about translations
Once your campaign is put online into WesCamp I'll create .po files for it. Those are used for translations, best done with tools like poEdit made for the job. Those tools usually also allow you to directly translate the .po in a .mo, the binary format which is used in game. Easiest way is to get i...

Confused about translations
Hi all, I'm trying to make my first Wesnoth campaign but I have some trouble finding out how translations work. I want to make the campaign in English (so that it can be useful for people here when I submit it) but my kids don't speak English and since they are going to be my first playtesters I nee...
