Not the right analogy, man. I have used FL, must I say it more than once? I know for a fact that FL can do orchestral music, and I even did a little (though nothing of acclaim). Maybe you should download the trial version and see for yourself.

Actually, Fruityloops can be used to make orchestral music, as well as any other kind of music. But I will be frank: I don't know what a pattern-based sequencer is. However, I am certain Fruityloops will serve any purpose you want it to. And FYI, it looks like this thread started out as a discussion...

yay, winRAR does it great. Keeps folder structure, I mean. Thanks. I guess I'll just keep using the 40-day free trial.

Thank you so very much, Shadow Master. In fact, when I unzipped the .tgz files, they did not keep directory structure, I just got a bunch of files. Very frustrating. I will look into the 7-zip documentation to see how to keep that. It should help. That should take care of everything, thanks everybod...

Uh, nope. Not a sign of either. Looks like everyone knows more than I do...want to explain in depth what is ...

hey

lots of stuff here about how to make music sound real, but no resources for actually creating music. Not all of us can go blow a few thousand on a special keyboard, sound board, sound card, breath control, etc. etc. etc. May I suggest fruityloops as an excellent alternative. Express version is $50, ...

hey

Alright, maybe someone who is really nice could try downloading campaigns/eras/factions/etc from the web interface and manually getting them to work...or maybe zip your userdata/data/campaigns folder and post it so I can learn from it?

thanks,

Allright, I've unzipped all to the the userdata/data/campaigns folder and nothing is working--that's right, NOTHING. Extended era, imperial era, windsong era, saboteur and savior, etc.

any ideas?

thanks.

HELP for a poor person

I don't have the net at home, so I download all factions/eras/units from the web interface of the campaign server at school and bring them home via my flash drive. I am having a TON of trouble getting them to work after bringing them home. Most of the campaign stuff is intuitive, like putting maps i...

I know it isn't complete. However, it mostly works. I am constantly fixing and patching it. A new version will come out soon.
I am trying to work out a way around the [] tag vs. variable name problem. If I fix it there will be a new release.
You're welcome :D
