Re: Journey's End
what's wrong with torrents? 1. You can't update the contents once the torrent is released. 2. We'd need several 24/7 seeders to ensure good download speeds and maximum availability. Hey West, just dropping in for a little clarification. While I can't immediately find a solution for updating the con...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Thanks for the reply, LB. I vaguely remember somewhere along the line Girgistian mentioned he drew some inspiration from wolves along with the obvious ape-like facial structure. Looking back at the portraits, perhaps my memory's been a little rose-tinted. But I think I figured out why they seemed to...

Re: Orc Portrait Series
I wonder what kind of biological/anatomical references you're going for with the orcs, LordBob. Just looking back on the sketches Girgistan and TSI worked on for SotBE, they really tried to define an animalistic, feral quality towards them (and in the meantime strived to avoid making them "a ca...

Re: WSAS: Milestone Three
Check the sprites. There isn't any membrane down the back of the arm. One of these days, I'll upload a quick anatomy sketch to show how the wings work. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'll try to clarify with a few references and leave the final decision to you. Looking at this photo , the area of interes...

Re: WSAS: Milestone Three
Nice, very clean! One little issue, which can be fixed in shading, is with his wings. Speaking in anatomical terms, there doesn't seem to be any wing membrane from the back to the "wrist" of the wing. At the moment, it feels like the only skin is between the "fingers." The area b...

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
Aw man, it's going to be a backhand? It seems like it's not taking advantage of the uniqueness of the weapons . I know that you'd like to differentiate them from the Clasher. Hopefully, if it's not too much trouble, you'll have attack variations?

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
I agree with Kitty in that the typeface can speak loads and seriously affect first impressions. This one just doesn't feel as serious. There's a Comic Sans feel to it, and it loses a lot of the elegance the previous iteration had.

Re: Portrait sketches
Really nice! My only issue is that his legs seem pretty thick. It gives him the impression that he's much stouter than he is, especially when you look at how thick his arms are. Otherwise, great work! I always love seeing your sketches.

Ditto on the lower left one. If you think they're too distracting, have you considered not letting it wrap around the entire box? Just corners or something like that could possibly work.

Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)
I think the issue is that DUHH is a little excessive with his counter-reflections (LordBob's tutorial, step 4); almost to the point of pillow shading. This is particularly evident in version 6. Also, I think most of the "off-ness" of the metal is the inconsistency of the lighting. Overall ...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
Very nice so far! Though I'd like to comment on the crossguards/quillons of the swords. Right now, they turn up a little abruptly, looking like horns. The ones in Jet's original image seem more swept, with a spatulated tip. I've included a few references to what I'm seeing, anyway. Ref 1 (closest I ...

Really, really cool, Groovy! I hope you'll put up a tutorial on this, too, for the rest of us inkscape enthusiasts. :eng: T...and 7, once the inner edge of the flame is expanded so that the ruby gets more room... May I also suggest deepening the "valleys" of the flame as well? When it's sc...
