Re: About the format of attacks ( damage-strikes )
Hmm, and what of the notion that users would think they are going to hit twice for 10 damage? Yeah, well, I can't think of an unambiguous brief notation. You'd have to spell it out to be really clear: "2 attack attempts for 10 damage each". Too verbose for the UI. You would still need an ...

Re: About the format of attacks ( damage-strikes )
For about a year of occasional casual play I thought it was a range (duh). The orc grunt did between 10 and 2 damage each attack, I thought. It was more carelessness than stupidity on my part - I didn't need to know what the numbers meant in order to beat scenarios. I only figured it out after I sta...

Great! An easy way to try out a no luck mod! I'll look forward to that.

Re: Attack Ability - Weird Strike
I think this is one of the better random ideas I've heard. Simple, tactically interesting and distinctive. I think the word 'weird' fits well with the ability.

Re: gold bonus for the defensive player in PvP game?
On the default 1v1 symmetrical/almost symmetrical maps player 1 cannot do any meaningful village stealing nor is there vital impregnable terrain in the centre of any maps that P1 can sit on and gain an advantage easily. Nor can player 1 rush player 2 with more units at the start - player 2 will have...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Neuromancer by Gibson. It's a classic. What to say ... I've just finished a couple of chapters of this as it has been endorsed on the forums on several occasions. So far, I'm a bit underwhelmed. If I continue, will it offer me any more than any other gritty underworld story about an unhelathy jaded...

Perhaps phosphorescence could explain it, although the graphics do look like beams coming through.

Re: My first portrait
What I like about the portrait is that the guard has an expression! I'm not sure what of, but it's there. Some computer-game artwork is very accomplished but is boring and cliched. I'd rather have a rough picture of an interesting character than a perfect picture of a bland character. Compare the po...

Re: Funny things you did as a beginner
I cunningly did an all ghoul recruit once in an MP game against knals thinking that if I just poison everything my opponent will have to run back and heal, losing a lot of HP in the process. What actually happened is that he killed my ghouls and used my villages to heal.

Re: Statistics
Well, I intended this post more for the game-by-game statistics not the online multiplayer part anyway. I know I have wanted them for awhile myself. I'm actually hoping I can submit a patch to allow tracking statistics myself, just as soon as I figure out how to get the mac build environment set up...

Re: ThanatoNoth [09.3]
Balance may be problematic with default era. The undead faction would be practically unplayable for starters; even if you didn't strip them of most of their recruits, the fact that their enemies have a substantial advantage to gain (undead recruits) and they don't puts them at a serious disadvantag...
