Re: Cackfiend's Balance Change Ideas for 1.7

That wouldn't really make up for the fact that healthy is taking up a space for another more useful trait. I mean 12 hp after sitting on a village for two turns? Doesn't sound too great. Healing effects are an arduous task to balance since they can upset things very quickly, and in my personal opini...

I hate loyalists, therefor they should be removed from existence. In all seriousness though there is only one thing I dislike about the HI line and thats if loyalists get a shock trooper as a leader on the Freelands they can't reach the village adjacent to the keep on turn 1 because of a hill hex in...

another thing Sorrowful forgot to mention was that Guardsmen are virtually invincible in dwarf mirror matches. It takes roughly 3 fighters and an ulf to safely kill one, which is completely ridiculous considering it's 76g for 19g, and a smart player would instantly take back whatever the guardsman w...

So, to summarize, you would suggest a combination of mostly archers for hitting, fighters for taking damage and saurians, one mage for saurians and a shaman or two? With the possibility of involving elvish scouts into the mix (I've found that scouts' usefulness varies widely depending on the map th...

An idea doesn't have to be included in the exact from that it was originally suggested (in fact, it rarely is). Just because the original suggestion is unbalanced doesn't mean it can't be shaped through discussion into something useful. And surely +1 damage is the same as Strong. If this trait is u...

I'm sure I have at least a few autosaves of some of our latest games. I know I at least have a screenshot or two depicting my awesome luck. Lemme poke around my comp. EDIT: here's a before/after style screenshot of one of our games. before http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/7991/screenshot00002bq7.t...

I've been using the stable version since thats where most of the people are, I didn't notice that they had strong removed from adepts in the development release. as for the whole weakness with traits, guess we heard it straight from the fool's mouth... er wait. I still like the idea that theres a -1...

New Trait: Wise (or something along those lines)

Intro: Well I was chatting with my friend and though up an idea for a caster trait since it seems as though most traits are either detrimental or just useless (coughstrongadeptscough) for casters. This idea MAINLY came from the fact that I recently had a game where I had 4 strong/quick adepts, which...

hmm, well he loaded it from a save since we had to leave soon after that, but I think that he had already attacked with the ghost and the adept off of the village by that point.

Breaking a Strong Defense

How do you break through a strong defensive position, like in the map Siege Castles it's on the east battle between upper right and bottom right (elves vs dwarves, me as elves) and basically we're both sitting on each side of the swamp, him with guardsmen and fighters, me with fighters and archers. ...

The AI also likes to head north a lot. In Morituri it always seems to go after the person at the top rather then the one at the right.

Bug: Loading a saved multiplayer game

When you save a game in multiplayer and then load it back up, everyone is auto-put on team 1 as red. This is fixed when the players turn is reached, but it's somewhat annoying for the first player/team (especially in fog of war).

just to update (additional clarification and whatnot) we (sorrow and I) just had another game where a Shadow was made during dawn, and sure enough when nightfall hit it went invisible, so it's just a bug when it's made at night. My guess is it considers it to be an action that isn't moving (like att...
