problem:
some devs think they are gods, they react violently to anyone with a different opinion

and to stay on topic, imo the only place where knalgans have trouble beating loyalists is on rumble maps, where HI have 50% def (insane)...

The main problem with Wesnoth IMO is the slowwwness of the MP games.. even when the players are good and move quickly, the games are slow as hell wesnoth is fine if you play single player, the AI moves very fast, and if you dont have time you can always save and continue the game later but with mult...

I thought the change wasn't absolutely necessary, but I also don't think it made that big a difference and HI are very hard to counter if you are not good with knalgans. Did you ever play with the HI vs the Knalgans prior to the change? it effectively took 4 or 5 Dwarven thunderers to take one down, IF you didn't miss anything...

the main thing is to keep your unit within support range of eachother

drakes have the ability to use their whole army to overwhelm half of your army, then they do the same to the other half
