How do you see version numbers from the game?

Hi all

Probably a stupid question, but how can you tell which version you're running without looking at the download files? If there isn't a way to check the version from the game itself, maybe there should be - the credits page should show it in a corner or something, at least...

Ah, that exceeds my (admittedly limited) knowledge, sorry... but it must be similar. The save files and wotnot, at least, must be in your home directory, I'd guess...

What are you trying to do?

Surely that depends on what distro you are using, and how you installed it?

For me, using Fedora Core 4, the executables are in /usr/bin, and I installed it with yum. The save files and music and stuff are in /home/.../.wesnoth.

The first time around, I thought it was impossible, but then I did only have 1 red mage and a blue one and mostly elven archesr. I ended up with all the baddies in the middle at once - not good. After I restarted, I wondered if I'd accidentally changed the difficulty level to 'easy'! A few more mage...
