Re: Ghosts!

My 89th wesnoth portrait Something that strikes me as out-of-place is that the the elven portraits (in particular) have a slightly different crop than your WSAS images. Especially the Archer and the Hero. Generally you have cropped them between the waist and hip and the newer portraits are generall...

Re: Kitty's Merpeople

I think that it's just fine if you use the same pose once in every 50 portraits Pha - I'm way over 70 by now :P And there are actually endless possibilities to combine the human body with an elongated object like a staff/spear/triton plus different physiques, props and costumes. I'm not rally afrai...

Re: Kitty's Merpeople

The diviner made me remember the female dark sorcerer (or was it some other dark magicky chick?) that has more or less the same pose. I can just imagine both female DS and diviner talking in a dialog at the same time. Both just staring and talking to their staves. :D "What's up with those two ...

Re: WSAS: Making a start

Should the shoulder pad move downwards at some point in the defend animation? Now it stays up there when the main body crouches a bit. Some movement would be nice IMO at least. Now it stays still when everything else moves. EDIT: It does move in a way. It changes it's form a bit at least. i just did...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series

My immediate reaction on cavalryman was that the saddle is too near to the head of the horse. (And that it looks great - the same with every portrait of yours. :)) If you have a reference with a saddle positioned like that - great and I don't know where I get the false impression. :P Otherwise you c...

Re: Smaller texture on roads?

Sorry for my not so good english. I hope you understand. And sorry if there was a topic for this kind of questions. :lol2: Well, if your English is "not-so-good", I bet that it's merely the Finnish people's I-can't-speak-English-although-my-English-is-actually-as-good-as-perfect-syndrome....

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves

And the welder look is intentional - I'd assume these guys are the guys who make the thundersticks and the ammunition for them. They're going to want to protect their faces. He'd probably not wear it down in combat though, given the dwarves' dislike of face covering. I would think that they leave t...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series

Sorry to jump back to Javelineer, but aren't his spare javelins a bit more sketchy that those that he's holding? They have dark, jagged outlines, while those that he's holding are really smooth and perfect.

Great work thespaceinvader! :) I have followed your art career here and it's nice to see that you are steadily bringing the quality to higher level. Hard work really pays of! (Which Jetryl especially has always been saying...) I particularly want to compliment you for the metal shading, which you se...

Re: Help needed defining team rgb values for unit graphics

Enchantress committed . Deserter, I don't know what you're talking about; here's my guess, though. The hand is rotating (and idling between open and closed), so you see more of the palm in one frame. The head is tilting slightly, so the highlights are shifting around. Both of those are as-intended....

Re: Help needed defining team rgb values for unit graphics

Two things on Sylph: 1. Look carefully at her right hand. You should see that something is wrong. 2. Look very carefully at her face. In one frame there is something going on that I don't really understand. Is it light that is obscuring her face? Is it hair? The animations for sylph and enchantress ...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series

I'm also posting a rough of the halberdier for a check of the pose and proportions. Next step will see the linework cleaned. Great work so far LordBob! :) To me it seems like the Halberdier is cowering, because he is afraid of something. Like he sees a huge dragon in front of him and suddenly feels...
