Re: Dragonfyre: Essence of Life Online Tabletop RPG
Seems to me a more specific version of http://www.yourole.net/, an Italian project, free as a beer, that allow you to create virtual table with all the functions of a real table (map drawing, dice rolls and so on) to play from your home at your beloved rpg.

Re: Discussion of modern fantasy
Note: it is still possible to write good fantasy with the traditional set of species. You just have to make sure that you don't rely on your audience's expectations of what they should be to substitute for world-building and characterisation. The Dwarves by Markus Heitz and Stan Nicholls' Orcs book...
Re: old guns
I have two questions (and a background thing you don't have to read): 1) how do you convert from pounds (lbs) to kilos? - the cannon (plural -although why people can't just add an "s" is beyond me) are classified acording to the weight of a solid iron shot they would fire, so how heavy in...

Re: Playing Northeners
Hi. Yes, you are right, northies are the suckish race over there because they were meant to be so. They have no tools to deal damage and have low mobility with no fliers or strong cavalry(overrecruiting wolves is a bad idea because they have bad combat stats for their cost) to be able to chase enem...

Re: Wheel of Time (Don't hate me)
It's also true that Wheel of Time follow the classical scheme that many fantasy sagas follow: there is someone that it's not so important and he becomes an hero/superevil that save/destroy the world.

Re: Open Source and Capitalism
So close that The Great Crisis in 1929 was solved by a guy called Keynes who stated a simple thing: The State CAN and MUST operate into economy if it's needed. And this is something against the capitalism precepts. Even in the actual crisis the USA gov is pumping statal aids to companis in danger a...

Re: Open Source and Capitalism
Don't be to sure of that. I'm predicting that there's going to be some people who think that the United States is an example of capitalism. They are. If you follow the pure capitalistic idea by Adam Smith (who first mentioned capitalisme) then they follow it very close to the book. So clo...

Re: Open Source and Capitalism
The copyright laws do not forbid people to do anything that cuts into the profit of the manufacturer , but give some control over who is allowed to simply copy the software (or other information). Ehm you buy a copy of Starcraft II but you don't own it. Same question for MS EULA. You don't own a si...

(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Easy (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 8 (6 on reply) (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? A bit confuse about "tallin to the dwarven hall". Seems to me to be the throne tile on east. (4) How clear...
