Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
1.9.12 just hit with many whiteboard bugfixes and improvements, that are listed in the release notes. By now there should be no critical (i.e. crash) bugs left, report those ASAP if you find any. Unfortunately some more critical issues remain in multiplayer, I'll be updating the list of know issues ...

Re: Wesnoth 1.8.6 anc Mac OS X Lion
I do have a new crash compared to 1.9.10 now though - it happens when between 2 Scenarios the game switches to the map screen. :hmm: When I load the same point in the previous version the game continues on with no problem. Fixed for 1.9.12, this one was indeed my fault. I did extensive testing with...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Thanks for the testing and the reports, I'll try to reproduce those bugs. I had to break several things in the whiteboard for 1.9.11 in order to fix more severe and fundamental crash bugs, so you're probably experimenting side-effects of that. I'd like to participate in a 2v2 with you guys once 1.9....

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Sorry that you miss waypoints, but since the functionality is so similar to the whiteboard's, having both would just be feature creep (also, it was a keyboard-only feature which is against wesnoth's design philosophy, everything should be doable with the mouse). Rather, I'll focus on getting the goo...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Hey Kolbur, thanks for the feedback! Just answering on a few points: - The keys are not set in stone and I'm still testing various configurations and trying to see what works best. Undo still works as usual so for now I left it on a separate key, but I tend to want to use 'u' as well to delete moves...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
You guys should go check out version 1.9.9 which was just released: it includes all the work tschmitz did for gsoc this summer, including: * see your allies' plans over the network * multi-turn planning (still missing a proper display of turn numbers on the arrows) * several bugs fixed Of course the...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
First the good news: tschmitz was accepted in GSoC to work on the multiplayer part of the whiteboard, so if all goes well that'll be done by the end of summer. Hello again. It has been a while, but I think I can provide some further useful feedback/suggestions on the whiteboard. I should say that I ...

Re: [interface] Ghost image
Posting here so I remember to ponder whether this idea would fit within the whiteboard framework or not.
If somebody wants to implement this separately I can give him cues on how to display fake units, displaying info in the sidebar when you mouseover them, and similar stuff.

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Impressive job ! I tested it today and got really amazed, well done ! A quick suggestion although I suppose not easy to implement: would it be possible to share the planning one has made with teamates when playing MP games ? That's the whole idea ;) (or at least and important part of the project). ...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Hi, I've been playing with the whiteboard and really enjoying it. Very useful, and a big improvement over 'delay shroud updates'. Hats off to those behind this! Some specific feedback follows. It's nice to hear some feedback from someone who actually used it and likes it! Firstly, my most important...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
I'd just like to answer to the bug 17060 . I'm going to do this here because it can proberly start an discussion: I think you even don't need to do this. It's properly better and easier to remove the waypoint feature. You can do them with the whiteboard by doubleclick and got, in my opinion, comple...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Actually it's like that since 1.9.0 . I take note that it may not be easy to discover, but I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the release notes.Anonymissimus wrote:Indeed. (This is very new I hope )

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
I used to almost always play with the "delay shroud update" setting on. What I'd really need is an option to temporarily enable whiteboard, much more than temporarily disabling it, since I use undo much more seldom than using it not (so to say). You could use the same key (tab) ? If I und...

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
Just FYI people, I've added a new "execute all" command bound by ctrl+y by default. It executes all actions until the first attack.
If nothing serious comes up it'll be in 1.9.2.

Re: Planning system/Whiteboard feedback
I suggest you two things: 1st: Have an execute-all function. You usually do not plan moves if you aren't sure about what to do because of random ways like new enemies appearing from fog and fights. You can at the moment just press and hold 'y', but if you reach an enemy used to be in fog and your u...
