Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
If the map format hasn't changed, that should be straightforward. Is there an up-to-date list of official terrain strings? TerrainLettersWML appears to have not been updated in over a year. I'll be getting back to Wercator development over the summer, now that I've defended and settled in at my new ...

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
oh. my. garsh. this is brilliant! I just happened to click on this link 'cause of the cool freakin' title, and here I am, face to face with the very program that I've been wishing for! I'm glad you enjoy it. :-) I'm in the process of finishing up my thesis, but I'll be back to work on Wercator come...

Re: Campaign editor new feature: export whole map as bitmap
Depending on how you're using the map in your RPG, Wercator might be of use -- it generates pen-and-parchment maps from BfW map files. There's a web interface at http://www.sellner.org/wercator , or you can download the source and build it as a plugin for the Gimp. See here for maps that have been g...

Re: printing maps?
IIRC, this has been asked in the past, and the answer was that there isn't an easy way to print the contents of the map editor. The best solution was to scroll around taking screenshots, then stitch them together in something like the Gimp or Photoshop. However, Wercator might do the trick for you -...

Re: State of the multiplayer server
Clearly, the knock against multiple servers is fragmentation of the community. My network coding is rusty, and I haven't looked at wesnothd, but what about extending wesnothd to support a slave mode? The primary / official server would handle the chat room, etc., then when a game was begun, it could...

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
What should happen with a failed render (assuming you haven't clicked away from the page you're sent to after you click 'render') is that you should be taken to a page detailing the error. I take it that's not what happened? IMO, if there's an unknown tile, it's better to obviously fail, since that ...

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
Okay, I fixed the bug that you tweaked, DDR: it was only a problem for square wave borders with a width of exactly 10. It's also now properly trimming stains when "tear and dirty the edges" is used, and handles all the new terrain types of BfW 1.4.

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
Ah, you're referring to the 404 page. That's now fixed -- I was incorrectly using relative links on the 404 ("lost") page, which won't work when the incorrect URL has a subdirectory in it.
DDR, if you just go to http://www.sellner.org/wercator, do you still have problems?

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
What's this %5C%22./ junk? Just take it out. http://www.sellner.org/wercator/mapsIndex.html Right. The question is how on earth is that being inserted in the links that DDR is seeing on the site? They look clean in Firefox 1.5 and Safari; I thought it worked in Firefox 2 as well, but I'll double-ch...

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
Okay, give those links a try now -- they are relative, and I used "./foo.html", rather than "foo.html". Let me know if they work -- if that makes a difference, there are a number of other places that change needs to be made.

Re: Wercator Weturns! (v. 0.6.3; Web interface back)
http://www.sellner.org/wercator/%5C%22./index.html%5C%22, the link in http://www.sellner.org/wercator/getOptions.html, needs to be changed to http://www.sellner.org/wercator/, I think. :) Indeed. Fixed -- thanks! Also, the "Select a BfW map to upload:" text box is about 8 spaces ahead of ...

FYI, the web interface to Wercator has been rewritten, and is now available at http://www.sellner.org/wercator. Hope it's useful!

Re:
Will the web interface ever be restored? I miss it. :( And the answer to that would be... check it out ! :-) It's a complete rewrite, and involves more Javascript and CSS fun than before, so let me know if anyone has problems with particular browser / OS combinations. It's using the development ver...

Yeah, when I try to use Wercator I get an error message, it renders the map but it does not finish the job. I am using 0.6.3 on Ubuntu 7.10 using GIMP 2.4.2 The message is attached... Thanks for the bug report. I recently gained access to a Ubuntu 7.10 machine myself; I'll see if I can reproduce th...
